This post was moved to Viper Racing and Dyno runs forum for some reason that I can't figure. Kind of a good thing as it will stay fresher there, just not viewed as much.

Can someone answer to why it was moved. It is of a general discussion topic. No sales pitches, no slander, no flamming, just a great opportunity to add another facet to our viper community and recognize all of those who have worked so hard to breach the 9 and 10 second barrier!

VCA and moderators, feel free to step up and contribute to a great cause as these 9 and 10 second viper enthusiasts are the only thing holding up the brand name as our factory has abandoned us on the road coarse circuit.

Check the other forums like corvette and supra. You will see that the most active threads are those that deal with VIPERS!

GOOD LUCK to all who wish to apply for membership into this exclusive and non-profit organization.

Tom, you might get some slack from the Illinois Autocross team, or better known as the K.A.R.T. (kick *** race team). They have used that name for the last year and a half when competing against other teams (such as Team Viper and the DC Execs).I don't know, but it sounds like they may have grounds for some licensing fees? Is there a lawyer in the house?

Tom don't worry about patent infringement, just work on the name, as I wouldn't mind being associated with the K.A.R.T. guys, but I am thinking the W.A.R.T. folks aren't going to love their moniker,ha.

Maybe just Whoop Asp Racing --- WAR

Shorter, but sounds lots better.

Gonna include any RoadRacers in the group, or is it just for the
Drag Racing Set --- just asking?

Did I hear somebody calling for a lawyer - one that handles intellectual property?

Hey Steve, I think you've got a point on the trademark issue (sorry Bill, patents cover devices and methods, not names). Whoop Asp Race Team and Kick Asp Race Team are similar enough that trademark protection for both would be a problem. Although I doubt either would sue the other party, it makes good sense to select a name that is not confusingly similar.

Enough of this free legal advice stuff, back to work...
