that's easy

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out shouting holy s**t what a ride.....

Not putting miles on your viper is like not sleeping with your girlfriend and saving her for the next guy.....

I wanted to be inconspicuous...
You don’t mistake it for a corvette...(Although people ask “what kind of car is that”)
And it makes me happy… It was a purely selfish purchase, 100% upside...

I was born Mopar, I breath Mopar, and I live Mopar. And the Viper is the ultimate.

I fell in love with it at 7 years old and that was it! :)

Basically a muscle car that is reliable and can handle!

Well that's a good reason ....................... but ............

am I the only one that bought one of the fastest road cars in the world? The GTS was so fast it was seriously punished for winning too many Grand Prix races in the late 90s. The Viper is still required to race with 30/40% intake restrictor plates.

I am a Ford guy never really paid attention to the Viper until I sold a bigblock Mustang wanted something with the same attitude and less maintenance started looking because of the power bought it because I find it to be the singularly most beautiful shape a car has worn since the Cobras and vettes of the sixties.Obviously I couldnt afford a real Cobra or Daytona Coupe soooooooooooooo!

Started out with an 81 Vette, loved the body style.
Next was the 95 Vette, loved the speed.
2003 Hummer, love the attention.

Realized one day everyone had the vette and Hummer...

Finally after 11 years... with boys grown and in college, I bought the car of my dreams... The Viper! 2006 Black with silver strips.

Love the body style
Love the Speed
Love the Attention

what a deal! :2tu:

Mainly as a status symbol. Also, it is an American made (I'll never buy an import) exotic that you do not see a lot of on the streets. At 1,500 miles/yr you do not see mine much on the streets anyway. :)

Bought it to show the Viper can be a great autocross car even in Stock form, and that you don't have to have a Z06, GT3, or Elise to win the SCCA's Super Stock class.

The reason I bought a second one after crashing my supercharged 98 GTS was because I hate to lose and 900bhp was a 'little too much' for my 440 Duster and daily driving of 400mile trips.

Because the GTS has enough cargo space for my wife's suitcases and shoes.

Because it's one of the best stopping cars on the planet, then I upgraded to roeracing 14" ACR brakes.

Because Dodge's almost never break down.

Because it's the most beautiful car on the planet (and looks good next to my wife).

Because I like a challenge when I drive.

Because I wnant to do 200mph in a standing mile one day.

Because I want to compete in the Silver State Rally at highspeeds one year.

Because I built another insulated garage

Because 2001 is the newest car I've ever owned.

Because (although I would probably refuse) it's the only car that I would ever consider trading my wife for ...

Because I live 200 miles from the nearest city and only 1 cop on duty?

- in case of Emergency I'm faster than a Medivac (they take an hour or two to show up.

I'm sure there's more but ...

I just always wanted one since I seen a B/W combo when I was a little one. Soon as I had the opportunity I went out and found what I wanted a new SRT first edition.
