Why does she \"gurgle\" more...?

I just changed the plugs on the car. Driven it 2 days now, and there is a huge difference in the exhaust "gurgle" when you release the throttle versus the older plugs. Why is that? It is not easy to change the plugs on the last 3 of the right rear bank (special extension or technique...?). Could it be that maybe a wire is not securely on? I felt a very minor increase with the new plugs but less than expected.

Car has 24000 miles, K & N's; that's it.

Everybody says that they can "light em' up from a role in 1st. I can get the car a little sideways sometimes but not smoke em'. I have the following mods planned in consecutive order and would like to get feedback from those already down this road.

K&N's :done
chrome smooth tubes: just ordered from JonB (nice fellow)
Corsa catback and 3" high flow cats: in about a month
S. Roe VEC1: 2 months.

thoughts? I want to light them up from a role...with tons of smoke ay! :D

Re: Why does she

Car will spin but probably not smoke like crazy from a roll unless it is cold out. From a stop that's a different story.

Switch the rear end gears to 3:54's and you will have smokey smokey!

when you say gurgling do you mean backfiring?

Michael,

Remove the airbox that sits on top of the Heater/AC blower squirrel cage...two 8mm screws and two 11mm bolts, and it's off...then you can comfortably reach in and check the plugs/wires...also...Change your wires...MSD's are only $73 from Jegs (part number 121-3226-9)...Or get the Mopar Performance wires...Get some cool looking wire looms while you are at it... Like these (Like AnthonyGTS!)

Re: Why does she

Hey Craig, it's not loud backfiring, just a pleasant "gurgle" when you come down from 2500 RPM's to a slow role. Same noise as the original plugs, just amplified. If a plug is not correctly attached, this would induce unburned fuel into the exhaust system and ergo the "gurgle" right?

Hmm ya got me, It's been so d@mn long since I've had ours out that I forget that noise. Heck it still isn't out of hibernation yet. I'm sure someone here will know for sure.

Snakebitten, are the Mopar wires as good as the MSD's?
Do you know the list on the Mopars (are they more or less than MSD)?

Thanks

So said ViperJoe

ViperJoe The Mopar Performance wires are every bit as good, IMO, as MSD or Magnecor's...The MSD and Magnecor's are RED and look cool in the engine compartment...I cannot locate my Mopar Performance price list, but give Chuck Tator a call...For the Magnecor's, call JonB @ PartsRack...

Michael JEGS is online...Can't you order stuff over the internet up there???
