Your argument is a valid one except for a few misleading things.
an 02 z06 will pull anywhere from 340-348 as seen on about a dozen of them at R&D Dyno.
And a stock viper pulls from 398-405 as seen on many on the same dyno. The problem with dyno jets is repeatability, and you really need to compare on the same dyno with the most accurate setup on the software.
Besides all that you should be comparing average hp across the power band, in which case the Viper just plain blows away any z06.
