That's exactly what it is. The guys who used to massacre Mustangs and Civics have now moved into Viper world. By far, the worst outcome of the bad economy....Vipers turning out like this.

This is what we call in the car business "the shanaina package":omg:

It's probably a crashed car, and it was cheaper to pull that abomination off rather than buy new panels. At least the dealer is being honest about the car in their description. I don't want to hurt any feelings, but I saw something at VOI that made that car look quite tame................

hahahahahaha...obviously not. lol

I would buy it but that rear end has cracks in it. imagine that.

Did you see the rear view mirrors? I think we finally found one worse than the dolphin car!

I kind of feel bad for the dealership that took this in on trade. You can tell by the write up that the guy is kind of embarrassed to post it. I thought about sending them a message to try to find out who the previous owner was so some of the VCA guys could "pay him a visit" and talk to him about his choices. lol

I'm kinda curious to what they were thinking if they took this on a trade? I may go pay them a visit later this week for a laugh and report back.

I give props to the dealer, the description and pics do a good job showing the mess and setting expectations. And reference to use as a track car, pretty honest for a dealer. Normally you see a hot mess like this described as a custom car, blah blah, with pics from 40 ft away. For a track car and tha VPA deal, it's actually interesting if its mechanicals are good.

If I could afford this car and everything listed below: I have a list.

It would look almost stock...I kind of like the way the Prowler mirrors look on the car.
It would have the '08 style hood (just looks mean)
I would repaint it Graphite metallic with Steel Grey stripes
ACR rims on Pilot Sport Cups
SRT-coupe style gas door
Balanger headers and exhaust
Lumpy cam
Some sort of N/A tune (mild. We're talking about 600ish hp)
5-point harnesses for both driver and passenger (contrasting black with my interior)
Tan leather interior
License plate: WATSAZR1 (we're allowed up to 8 characters up here)

There's no harm in dreaming, but what do you guys think of my vision?

Not a bad deal ... add $7k for paint and you're at $35k for a non-salvage Gen 3 with new paint.

With no history on the car if it was ever in a wreck, non original and a complete redo. Too much of a gamble @ the 26k asking price IMO.

You would have to see the frame. It is incredible what people will fix. The last wreak I was looking at was actually two cars welded together and no it was not done right....

So this car sold today. Spoke to the new owner and he knows that it looks like crap and about what it's going to cost before fixing it up (bumpers, mirrors, hood, and full body wrap). Told him about the site and mentioned this thread. Hope he charms in with some progress on it.

Previous owner traded it in on a new 2013 and all the sales people I spoke to about the car couldn't believe that someone could do something like this to a Viper. My comment to them is "Make him sign a contract that he won't do it to the new one".

For $10k more you have one with less miles and no work & new tires, not sure it was worth the price unless you make your own body kits and needed a donor car.

wow that looks bad. i would acually rip out everything a check it.

but this would be a good candidate for a wide body front and a rear coupe conversion. plus a 08 hood. cant believe it sold for so much too.
