Cool spotting Sween. The funniest place I've seen a Viper was a couple years ago when I was up in Atlanta and saw a black Gen 2 RT/10 (also with the softtop on) pulling out of a Krispy Kreme drive-thru. Totally caught me off-guard

I drive my Viper almost everywhere, from 7/11s, fast food drive thrus, Safeway, commuting, travel trips. So it's not uncommon to get stares and comments from people who don't think that the Viper can ever be used as a regular car.

Now I won't leave the Viper unattended for an extended period of time, like at a movie theater or shopping mall parking lot, or bad neighborhoods, or dark places overnight, etc.. But other than that, it gets a lot of use.

I go through kfc drive thu... always get a crowd around the window. :2tu:

I once parked at a gas station beside a KFC to put my softtop on b/c it had gotten pretty cold when the sun went down. The person riding with me started laughing and pointed over to the KFC drive-thru window. About 5 kids were hanging out the window all with camera phones flashing. We then had the normal "what year, how much, how fast?" conversation across the parking lots. When I got my top on, I drove over so they could get a better look and some better shots of the car.

I avoid drive thru's because I hate talking to a microphone. Besides there's no safe place for that soda.

But my Viper has seen worse places such as dirt roads in some national parks, washed out mountain roads, home depot and lowes quite regularly, costco with a cart full of stuff. I think it was the off roading in the national parks that got the most looks especially from the SUV types.

I washed my car one day and picked up a friend that night to go off. He asked me to spin by someone else's house so he could pick something up. He failed to mention they lived in a trailer park that was 50% dirt and 50% potholes. So I spent 50% of my time cussing him and the other 50% dodging potholes. But I have seen worse. When I was on Spring Break in Panama City, FL a couple years ago, we were about to head home and passed a trailer park (near Club LaVela) with a orange lamborghini murcielago sitting outside a single wide lol

I haven't tried a drive-thru yet. I just assumed that the window was too high up to actually get your food or pay for it. Haven't tried a drive thru with the top off yet though. That, I might try since it should be fine.

A Viper's been my daily driver for eight years. Black '00 RT/10 is my current daily driver unless I know its going to be raining (no need to wash the car more than I have to). I even live 6 miles from nearest Fremont city border, and I've been known to park the Viper at a local 7-11 every now and then.

However, likely wasn't me, as I never put the soft-top on unless I get caught in the rain away from the house; soft top is in the trunk if the hard top isn't on. Currently have the hard top on when there's a chance I'll be working late.

Yeah, some of the fast food places have raised up their drive-through windows up to match the huge population of SUVs and trucks. And with the hard top on I do have to reach up to grab the food (my Viper is lowered). But the hard top is only on for about 2 months during winter (it was off today).
It must be a strange sight for the drive-through cashier as the Viper's roof is about level with their window counter. ;)

Drive-by mailboxes get me though as I have to unbuckle and open the door to reach up to the SUV-height mail drop.
