We have one of the finnest tracks in Florida setup for a CHEAP private track rental. This track is the Home of the "Gator Nationals".But you Gerogia folks have to act fast!!!!!Our club has secured a track date of October 11, 2003 for a day of Drag Racing at the Finest drag racing facility in Florida!

The number to call for the central and North Florida VCA is 407-366-0366 and ask for Barb or Gary. We need at least 20 cars to make this event happen. All of you in South Florida and Georgia are invited to run with us if you are a current/paid VCA member for 2003. It's $30.00 for car and driver and crew or guests are $10.00 each. We can take your credit card over the phone for your registration.

"To date we only have 12 cars that have paid to participate. This is not enough cars to hold this event. We need a minimum of 20 cars to participate to make it a success. If we don't get the 20 cars needed we will have to cancel this very special event!

The event will run from 8AM to 4PM and we have Gainesville International Dragway exclusively to ourselves. Lunch will be provided by the club to local VCA members participating all others will cost $10.00 each. This is a great NHRA track and probably one of the best in the USA. Don't miss a chance to experience Gainesville!

The deadline for registration is now 5:00PM, September 5, 2003 ! If you plan to attend, please call the North Florida VCA office and ask to speak with Barb. She will take your information and a credit card will be needed at that time for payment. Only a credit card payment will hold your spot!

I spoke with Gary Lashinsky, our club Grand Pooba, and according to him, ANY Viper Club member can come and race, regardless of region. Gary, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, I'm pretty sure that there is going to be a class matrix. I would be more than willing to put up some sort of cash sponsorship towards adding to the excitment of this event. I know our club has positive cash flow as well. I am not a promoter, I do feel that if folks start to contact the club office and register, the club may be more inclined to up the ante.

It's up to you folks. Let me know what I can do to help!

Ward, only the bottle for the first 3 stages is visible and can be emptied. The afterburner nitrous bottle is mounted under my seat and a small purge sprays me on the asp to keep things cool. Thats the secret to victory!

I spoke to Lee Saunders..... he will be bring 2 Vipers: his 9 sec BTR Nitrous Viper and his SRT-10 Viper .... so that will be at least one more entry ( I just assumed he has already signed up the 9 sec Viper).

Sean Roe is coming and hopefully he will be debuting his 02 Viper.

Larry Macedo and posse is coming with Fuelman and myself.

We will have every major Florida and Georgia player and tuner represented EXCEPT one ..... Doug Levin.....

Doug Levin come out and play with the rest of the Florida gang....Oct weather will be great for this.... plus it is a business write off and what better way of working than racing.

Doug this is somewhat a short haul for you......Gerald(The ******), said you could pick up his car and give him some drag racing lessons.

For anyone thinking about moding their Vipers, plus about every Viper upgrade...hoods, wheels, louvers, etc will be on the cars. There will be all kinds of Vipers in action: Supercharged ,Nitrous, Naturaly asperated.....THIS DRAG RACING DAY IS FOR YOU....in your backyard!!!!

I want to come....I will have to check our bike racing schedule tues. to see if we are free that day!!!! It is only 3 hours for me to drive down there. What about NHRA rules.....last time I went there they told me no way I could drive my car down the track....with no safety equip.
I was renting the track for my Pro Stock bike team and I brought the snake with.....no way they say. How did you fix that? I would love to try and better my et at Gville! GB3

Viper Club of America ran a regional VCA event at Gainesville a few years back and they were VERY liberal with the rules. I'm sure that Helmets and the other basic items will be required. 10 and 9 second cars will be looked at a bit closer, but we were running 140+ mph at that event without being shown to the exit.
