So the passenger window goes down, but going up it’s catching on something or it’s loose on one side. I have to pull it by hand while pressing the button to get it to go fully up evenly.

I can’t seem to find any info online. But I did see where a Gen II has brackets glued to the glass that can come free.

Anyone have an idea of what is lurking for me behind the door panel?

Check the front edge as it comes up as well. On my driver's side the little black triangle in the front corner has one edge that sags to the outside of the window track, so when the window comes up it tries to miss the slot cut in that triangle piece. I have to hold the bottom edge back with my finger when raising the window. Passenger side doesn't have the same problem for whatever reason. Could also just be a sticky track inside the door that's grabbing one edge or the other. Might be able to squirt a little **** down it and see if it frees up any. Have done that with old cars at least to some effect.

It's the regulator assy. If you take the door panel off, you will that the white plastic housing is cracked and not allowing the cable to remain in position. Seems you be a common problem. I sent mine out for repair to Power window in AZ. Great people and fixed better than factory new surplus. They use a braded housing in stead of plastic. Took about 10 days and $400.

Although it is more likely that the plastic piece "shuttle" that links the window to the regulator is broken, I did have a roller fall off of my window. I took the window out, epoxied the roller channel to the window, and replaced the window.

Open it up. I had a very similar problem. The plastic gets brittle and will crack and break. I bought a used regulator that had very good plastic. Sounds like Power Window AZ is a good plan. Hope this helps.
