Windows not working! ...........who\'s fixed it?

99 R/T
Both windows stopped working. Supposedly their a breaker type
relay, fuse..... above the drivers side fuse box. Anyone
have this and fix it!

This sounds like a door harness problem, that affects windows, door popper solenoids, speakers, etc. The wires typically break right at the wire loom rubber boot, between the body and the door. It makes a really tight bend here, and standard automotive wire doesn't hold up to the constant flexing. I did a write up on it, with pictures a few months back, but the new search engine is not letting me even call up all my posts, like the old search engine did, which *****, cause it was a detailed, step by step write up.

The gist of it is, you pull the boot off the door, and off the body. Tug on the wires, the broken ones will come out of the boot. Solder extensions on the wires, (make sure you are matching the proper colors and gauge of wire) preferably with some really flexible wire, cover with heat shrink. Your extensions will run through the boot, and your splices can tuck back into the body and door. Some people put a whole new door harness on, but the quality might be as bad as the original, so I don't know about that fix. High flex wire seems appropriate here, such as Igus, among others. Mine work intermittently ('99 RT/10). Sometimes they will go down and not come back up or vice versa. It's the same on both sides. When it starts acting up I can usually fiddle with the switch for a few minutes as I’m driving along and it starts working again.

I figured it was something to do with the switch in the console because I wouldn’t think that two door wiring harnesses would both fail at the same time, especially since the driver’s side gets more of a workout. When I had the console off to install a short-throw shifter the other week I didn’t see anything loose or abnormal at the switch so I figured it is probably something else.

The previous owner said he never had any window problems, although I noticed it doing this on the drive home after I’d just bought it. Could this be the wiring harness or maybe something more common to both sides?

search my sig blwnasp I did a decent right up about this a year ago.

It is most like the harness in the door jam. I believe the drivers side is brown and green if I remember. You will see which wires are clipped once you pull back the boot cover.

Pop the center console an brush the contacts on the switch. Seen that one before.

Mine was the switch, took it apart and cleaned it but ended up just replacing it for 24.00. Jerry

Fixed. Wanted to take care of it for the new owner, even though
he's been having his fun.
It was the center console switches came loose. Why do we look
at the easiest sheet last.

Hell yea..its been fun

I'm tuning it with the fuel jets right now. With 55 nitrous and 34 fuel(put down 585rwhp/710rwtq)....its going off the chart rich. So I lowered the fuel to 30...and will be getting on the dyno soon...maybe tomorrow and hopefully see over 600rwhp

O yea...I'm going TT in a few months...you got me addicted to the POWA! haha

Then you must be talking to Paolo, cause there is no better
TT system for the $$$.
Watch out for those Drilled Rotors, they will develope cracks.
