Windshield Change by dodge

Has anybody heard of a change in how a windshield replacement is done?

New windshield is seated differently than original and the glass company is saying dodge changed it?

I had my glass replaced a few months ago. The seal is a little bit different but about the same. I will send a picture if I can figure out how to upload it to the forum. The glass itself installation is a standard process that is unchanged. The glass is expensive. My install cost about $1,200.
