I have one that is made to be mounted in on the vehicle. It has a 6" plug to attatch to an extension cord to plug in. I have it mounted to the battery tray under trunk.

Here's another idea. I made a cigarette lighter plug for my tender. I just plug it into the cigarette lighter. No need to open the hood. the lighter circuit is always hot...work great. Just make sure you get the polarity correct.
