For 10 years we have invited fellow Viper Owners and Gearheads to traverse somewhere across the country to a racing school, to alleviate the Winter Blahs and severe cases of Cabin Fever. This year, we wander back to Sebring , Florida, running the entire , 3.7 mile, 12 hours of Sebring track. This is very unusual to be able to run the entire track ( especially for 3 days ), but this is a custom program, and as we have participated in 3 other Panoz Schools, they really have been exceptional in catering to our needs. Seat time and unique school structure, highlight our gatherings, and the cars are perfect to teach technique in Vipers. Though the Panoz GTRA has only 250hp , it also only weighs 2500 lbs, and is very torquey. This makeup, along with a chassis that allows taller drivers to fit well in a racing car, help us accomodate many more drivers. Ask folks that have gone with us in the past, this school is a complete blast, and custom designed to get you on the track, improve your track awareness, and make you go faster and safer. Whereas many achools only get you up to full speed by the end of the last day, you will be challenging yourself at 130 mph on day 2 ( down the long Sebring back stretch). If you want to go have the time of your life, party like a Viper Owner is expected too, and escape the Winter Doldrums, give me or Bob Woodhouse a call at the number below.

When - January 25-27
Where - Sebring, Fl.
( we stay at the Chateau Elan Hotel and Spa on site - only $79 per night )
What - racing fun, partying nights, hangovers at 1.5 gs
( also the ability to get a SCCA Regional Racing License )
Who - you, and only $2995 for 3 Full days of track time.

Cars , racing suits, and helmets, provided, just bring your little ole self.

To answer a couple of your calls, you must sign up with Racing Schools.com, and tell them you are with the Woodhouse Group. This is not on the Panoz site, and they should not be contacted to sign up. The program is customized , and is a bit more than their normal programs, since we did not want to wait till day three to run the full track, and we also have extra track time, with items on the agenda that are not part of the normal school ( i.e. example --- Instructors go one on one in identical cars passing and being passed by the students ). This is kind of like Australian Pursuit Racing.

Give me a call or Robert or Carlos at Racing Schools.com

Hey Bill,

Cool offer, tell me, what's the best airport to fly into for Sebring (for commercial airlines that is).

Thanks!

Sebring is about equal distance from Orlando, Tampa, or Ft. Myers, so you get alot of choices to fly into. We came into Orlando last time, but I plan on checking out Ft. Myers this time.We may have some additional cool things happening this year, while we are there, so you better sign up,ha.

Hey Bill,

Can you give a day by day break down of what is covered in your school? I have taken the 3 day beginner course at Spring Mountain (Bragg Smith, in Pahrump, NV) and am considering the advanced class now at Bondurant. I was curious where yours falls in comparison to the class I took vs the class I am about to take, and whether it would be worth taking yours as well, or if it's a bunch of the same stuff. I would rather pay $3,000 towards 20 local track days here in California if it's the same. If it's substantially different, then you should be able to count me in.

We use the Panoz cars, not ours. What is the crash policy if you hurt their car ?
If it is the same when I went to Road Atlanta with the Woodhouse crew. Insurance was $100/day if you wanted it. And that limited your liability to $4,000. The Insurance paid the rest. Once you wrecked one car, there was no insurance avaiable on the next car if you wanted to continue. I think the cars are around 45K to replace.

Buy the insurance! Hoosier Daddy and I saw a young guy put his Panoz GT-RA into the wall between turns 3 & 4 during that same Road Atlanta school. Within an hour the Panoz staff gave the father the $22k damage estimate. He had bought the insurance so it cost him the $4k right there and then. The next day the son ran without insurance and was so slow he was a hazard. He practically used his turn signals at each corner! The Woodhouse Panoz trip is a blast. It's definitely worth attending. :2tu: Wish I didn't have other plans.

We have been doing this for over 10 years, and there have been very few accidents. The one Tom mentioned was the worse, and most trips went off with out any incidents. The last time we were at Sebring there were no incidents, and that is the norm. They do provide a insurance policy for a small fee, and the limit is $4000. Depending on the severity, they may elect to extend coverage on the next day. The Panoz cars are not like the roadster, they are a two seater race car similar to the Esperante, and they run a 5.0 ltr Cobra motor putting out around 250 hp. With the low weight, and strong torque, they make an excellent transition car to the Viper. We found this school translates better to the Viper than any other, and this will be our 4th trip, so the proof is in the pudding. Superbar, you have a private message, and Ray you had better just sign up, as you already know how much fun the Panoz cars are.

Probably of all the schools out there, this one gives you more track time in the racecar, and lends itself to type of car we drive.Plus, with a custom program, we know we are doing things that are not in the standard cirriculum ,even for an Advanced Class.

PS - We have had a few guys call and inadvertently the dates were listed elsewhere incorrectly. The School will be Tuesday , Jan. 25th, through Thursday the 27th. These will be 3 full days, so flights out would have to be around 8:30 pm on Thursday night or an early bird special on Friday ( that is what we are planning ). We are filling up very quickly and hopefully we will be getting a contigent of Florida Madmen to go also. With drivers from Missouri, Kansas, New Mexico, Texas, Illinois, Nebraska, California, Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, etc., it is a great little Viper get together. Call me ( work or cell ) for info, as we would love to have you join us!!
