Does anyone have the heat shields for sale by chance?

Or any experience using another material to cover the exhaust pipes so they do not melt the paint on the rockers?
Can I wrap the exhaust?

Thank you

Thanks a lot have you tried this without the oem heat shields in place and stock exhaust to see if it has melted the paint on the rocker panels?

This is the issue I am having. Can you suggest a brand to wrap them with? Stuff is pretty pricey, anything good at the local stores? Thanks

I'm sure there Is considerable debate about this, but I do remember reading about standard thermal header wrap NOT being a good Idea for the sills. I'm not sure why since In theory the wrap should keep a lot of the heat from escaping to the sills but I have definitely read about Issues with It.......perhaps associated with wrapping the cats....they may get too hot for even the thermotech wrap.

Another idea is to get the aftermarket sills and vent them (see a post from Dave 6666 on this from a few years ago), and save your OE sills for resale if you ever need to sell the car.

I found some heat wrap 50' x 2" wide at NAPA.
Do you think this will be sufficient? The problem I ran into is that I removed the aftermarket exhaust on the car and put stock back and when I put the rocker panels on they started to smoke from the heat.

Do you think the stock heat shields are much better than this heat wrap would be or will the wrap do? It's only $60 and I can get it locally vs finding and shipping expensive oem heat shields. Id love to hear some more experience like what was posted above.

You need the stock heat shields, and anything else you add will help, with out the shields your rocker covers will be toast.

As above, at a minimum, stock shields. ATP is the best, but your talking thousands of dollars for their stuff.
