Re: i have an extra xenon kit for sale

Am I missing something, but the thread makes it sound like it's a really cool upgrade;

However, it points out on the Roe website that these are "NOT" DOT approved - which means for us street legal drivers it's not an option. Is that correct?

Driving 80+ mph on the freeway is also NOT DOT aproved. Doesn't stop me. :)

Good point, but then the only time it's illegal to rob a bank is when you get caught - right? We all know that everything is insured and it really doesn't hurt anybody..... :eek:

Just like driving with non-DOT approved lights; it doesn't hurt anybody and as along as you don't get caught........ :D

Maybe not DOT might have something to do with the driver coming the other way and being blinded. Xenon kit will surely let you see the other person right before the head on collision. :usa:

Re: i have an extra xenon kit for sale

hids on vipers are technically not legal because they were not DOT certified b/c they were not installed, equiped by the factory.

Also HIDs are usually required to have self leveling mechanisms, to prevent from blinding other drivers.

this makes them technically illegal on vipers, but as long as you go with the 4200k's which burn white, not too purple or blue, then you should be fine.

if you ever get pulled over b/c of them, then just tell of officer that they are piaa superwhites, which are dot legal....i doubt they would check for a xenon ballast....besides enough cars come with them that it probably wouldn't surprise the police that vipers had HIDS too.

AS long as they don't look rice (blue) it is fine. Roe's kit are perfect. I have a few cop friends and asked them to see my car to see what they can get me for, they only said noise ordinance and speed limit things. They didn't even notice the HID. AS long as you say they are stock from what you know. :lol:

Hi Ting,
I am interested in the hid kit. I wonder why you decided not use the kit. If you could email the instructions or provide me with the ph# of where you got them I could ask them for an instruction sheet. I would put them on my '96. I am in sonoma ca near napa.
