I agree, kick him out of your house. If he's got the balls to "steal" your Viper, there's no telling whatelse he will/has done that you dont know about!
With the exception of an over-zealous retired cop, nobody said to file charges, but I think most would agree he needs to be thrown out. This in NOT a forgivable first offense... it's not like he played ball in the house and broke the tv. There's no mistaken the Viper is the guy's pride and joy and the fact he took it shows contempt of the guy providing the free rent.Well if you read what i put then you would have seen i said, we would THINK about it but most wouldn't do it ! The Corps isn't a "feel-good lets make excuses for criminals" BUT i dont think you should just give someone the max punishment for a first offense. yah its screwed up what his brother in-law did and he should be really pissed, and i suggested just like i did before, if you didn't see in my last post, that i'd give him an ass chewing of a lifetime and kick his ass out of the house.I just wouldnt call the cops and screw him over that way, maybe thats just me but thats a little over the top IN MY OPINION!
So like i was saying i'd deal with it in house like we do in the Marine Corps and not go the other route with the cops because its his brother in-law. So Hows that "FEEL GOOD" attitude??
good for you! At least he wasn't living under your roof.Well I had a very similar situation happen to me. I was lucky enough to catch my brother-in-law sitting in my Viper and about to pull it out of the garage. When he saw me he about sh**.
He tried to blow a bunch of smoke about he was going to have it cleaned for me. After I removed him for the car and ripped his *** up, he left. My wife found out about it and left him a very nasty message and I have not seen that guy in over a year!!
donate both his kidneys and corneas along with his heart to a good donor!
Well, you sound like a man that can afford to lose a Viper or two. Although I can respect that (and plan on being that myself), it puts you in the league of someone who probably wouldn't understand. That's ok... I don't know what it's like to use curreny as toilet paper either.Dude its just a damn car...lol. Some of you people are ridiculous. You act like none of yall have ever snuck in the garage at night and "borrowed" your old mans bad ass car. Sure a brother in law is a little diffrent. Still family no less. I think you need to relax. My brother has run off with my damn lambo in the middle of the night and i didnt flip (05 merci). I assure you your brother in law had the respect not to dick up your car. You guys crack me up...

Big difference between being 16, sneaking your dad's mustang out for a cruise to impress the chicks, and freeloafing as an adult and taking the benefactor's hard earned prize car without permission. If the guy is 16... not much you can do about it. Somehow I think he's older than that.
I have to disagree heavily with that statement. First I never took my parents car without asking in the first place. Maybe it was just how I was brought up but I never would even think of it as I would receive the beating of my life. Now that this is out of the way.
A Viper is not just a car. Granted, to some people it is because of their financial status, but to all it should be a 450 HP horsepower machine. He could be the best driver in the world but what if he crashed the car? If this happened then the OWNERS insurance has to pay it and then his insurance goes up. What is someone got hurt because of the driver, etc. etc. etc. These things are not necessarily in the fore-front when people think about "borrowing" a car, but this is realistically what could happen.
Maybe we haven't heard from him because the local jail don't have internet for it's inhabitants. jkDamn Batboy, lotsa posts and suggestions on this one, where ya at ? Give us your outcome, your sentencing....so we can let this one Die.

I just saw the semper fi, I was in the corps for about 6 years, good to see another fellow marine on the board. I dont know that i use any currency as toliet paper "although i have made lots of bad calls" Im just not really that high strung on this kind of thing but everyones got a thought. Just expressing mine.
That came out of left field, but made me laugh anyways.HIT HIM WITH YOUR PURSE AND BEAT HIM WITH YOUR HIGH HEELS
Batboy, maybe you should show your brother-in-law this thread so he can see what an a** he was in taking your car. Then you should smash his head in the keyboard a couple of times just for me.
You did the right thing, and he deserves where he is now. Still gotta have some love for him though, just because he's family, but change your locks anyways.Oh one more thing. The biggest problem I had with this whole thing was him lying to me. We called him twice and asked if he had the car to which he repeatedly said no. We even caught him in one lie and he continued to weave that web. That really burned me. It showed me he would take a lie to the n'th degree if he thought he could get away with it. And now it makes me think... "what else has he lied to me about?"
It's just a really bad situation that I'm sure will pass. I pray it doesn't happen to anyone else. Hearing those dreaded words "your car is missing" just tore me up. Let the healing begin.
