It's been two years since I've installed my Belanger Headers, Catback and RT cats. I still can't get enough of it. My favorite thing to do is drive through a nearby tunnel at WOT :D The sound is just deafening to those behind me. I recorded driving through this tunnel yesterday on my cell phone. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to redline as there was too much traffic. Sound quality is OK but the cell phone was sitting in my lap...imagine what it sounded like behind me :omg: :D I love this Viper!

Recording the sound of your exhaust note on your cell phone in a tunnel.....I'd swear that this condition constitutes grounds for a court ordered mental evaluation in several states, Tony! LOL

LOL...it took me 3 attempts to get a good recording. I kept getting on/of the exits until I was able to record something decent. Yes...I need help. :D

That is awesome. I went through a tunnel last weekend and revved her up pretty good. There was definitely a smile on my face.

Nice title of the file too.

Back from my Stryker Heads and Cam I have the Belengers Headers flowing into 3” hi flo cats and the 3” Corsa and it sounds wicked. No question Bellengers are the way to go. And when cruising it is not much louder and there is no drone at all.
Next spring when the snow is gone from here in Canada I will run a mic from the Corsa Tail pipes on my 2002 RT and do the same and record on the computer. As well I want to do a good ¼ mile run and record the same. It sounds incredible from in the car and I can only imagine the sound from behind. I still need to do some tuning but right now it sounds like an old stroked 426 hemi running on Nitro when idling in the garage with the door closed. It rocks………………….

Explaining Viper things to you
I know with mine, when the car is idling in the garage, the dishes in the kitchen at the other end of the house are rattling. If we only had tunnels in this big ass old state. :D

Actually our Corsa Track Exhaust used to do the same thing when started up in the garage, whole house shook, dog and cat disappeared!~! LOVED that exhaust (not to take away from Belanger!) ~jules

I sort of (but not really) feel like an ***... Yesterday, I had a business meeting with my old employer. I drove the Viper (to rub it in). As I was driving to the parking garage, the Viper was setting off car alarms. :D Unfortunately, they were laying off people yesterday. As I'm driving through the parking garage setting off car alarms I see just-laid-off folks carrying out their boxes to their cars with their alarms going off. :(

It is ironic, I guess, that the very folks that laid me off last year are finding themselves laid off and their company needs my business now...Karma is a b*tch.

tony, wait till you take the cats off... :)

That may happen over the winter. I think I have a seized lifter as it doesn't appear to plunge anymore. If that's the case, the head will come off...if the head comes off might as well take them both off and send them to Greg Good. :D I tried to explain to the wife that heads MUST be ported for a frozen lifter but she called b.s. so far.

...for a second but it was a shocker to see what a ghost town that company has become. But it was somewhat gratifying to see these folks who contributed to the company's downfall being walked away. I wish them well.

I'd also like to add that JonB was correct about the ceramic RT cats in that it gave the system a more mellow sound compared to the non-ceramics. Although, at what HP point should I consider the non-ceramics? I'm just over 500rwhp now.

Tony, et al.........
650+ HP in 3", could choose SHF-metal but NOT mandatory. You will LOSE that tone you love. SHF Metals = More flow = more DB.

This may sound weird: My baby brother has a PHd in Pipe Organ Music. He travels the world playing and tuning and working on centuries-old church organs !!! {MUSIC THRU PIPES.....think about it.)

He has shared some amazing 'science' of the musicology of exhaust notes, as to what is pleasing and what is dischordant. (your Continent matters!) example: An evenly-divided OCTAVE is what you hear in a V-8. WE AMERICANS LOVE V-8 MUSICOLOGY !!! Our music scale is 8-notes.

An eneven-firing Viper V-10 is two, uneven, superimposed 5-note scales. Dischordant. Five-or-seven note Asian-music scale sounding. (Ricer-squared? ) Its cultural! We have to do SOMETHING to improve the vibrations. (Hint: it AINT Stainless!)

So if you accept my tone-deaf advice, I have to give HIM credit...a PHd in Music !!
