I need a complete rear diff - anyone know where to source one?

Blew my clutch last month, and in the process, shredded my gear teeth in the rear diff. Just had the clutch replaced but now would love a drop in replacement (3.07 or 3.55 gears) of a complete rear differential. May be far cheaper than having the shop do a rebuild. Any idea where I can find one WITH some form of warranty?

Your best bets would be to call:

1. Unitrax - not quite the same as they used to be back in the Viper's golden days, but still worth calling
2. One of the high performance Viper shops (Nth Moto, Calvo) - I'm guessing they end up upgrading rear diffs for their high HP builds, so they may have OEM take-offs available
3. Viper-specific scrap yards (e.g., X2 builders) - maybe stay away from ones that have rear collision damage :)

I'm not sure how likely you are to find something reasonably priced and with a warranty, but I wish you luck.

I know a guy here in central florida that claims he has a dozen Viper differential assemblies. I'll PM you my phone number so you can text me and I'll get you his info.

You might try this site/call the guy who owns it; he might have a connection or be able to sell you one with warranty.

I have a spare diff in my tool shed. Was clunking with too much play in the spiders, replaced the carrier assembly with a replacement and put new axle oil seals, now it sits underneath my work bench. I had found another on EBay and had this one fixed. It is a stock hydrolock 3.07

Based on my experience and the assumption, you have a gen3. Purchase a new WaveTrac unit and absolutely go with 3.55 gears. I noticed the LSD difference my first on ramp pull. The new gears make the car much easier amd enjoyable to operate. Have a good one.

I have a spare as well. Would love to sell. Stock unit. 3.73 gears. Spider gears are worn but I believe the rest is in good shape. What's it worth? Don't need it.

On topic/Off Topic...

I have a core that I was going to rebuild this fall and put on the shelf. Likely either a 307 or 355 Wavetrac G3/4 if anyone wanted to work an exchange. Just FYI.
