2014 GTS with 6k miles (what I feel to be in perfect condition) and the check engine light just came on. Any suggestions for a scanner made for a viper? or all scanners built the same? thanks

I would suggest that you get an inexpensive scan tool from Harbor Freight, Northern Tool, etc. Just be sure that is OBD II, CAN bus, reads and clears codes. They are $40.00 to $60.00.

I carry one in all cars...note just to clear the codes, but by doing so, one can get the car out of limp mode (at least on a temporary basis).

Remember: clearing codes is not a cure for the issue. Always record any codes that you plan to clear.

I say spend a few bucks, get a good one as it will show you a lot more. Autel makes great units. You will have it for life and can use it on any vehicle with the OBD2 port. Have Fun!

I have a Xtool D9 and its Bidirectional. I love the Bidirectional feature. Does pretty much everything under the Sun including OBD I.
Comes with 3 years of free updates as well.
