How many are waiting on a Gen V Vert?

Yes, like it very much, the right color, wheels, etc. Where do I order?! :)

Decided to DIY my diff -> 3.55 gears. Couple questions...

Thanks, Tail lights! All great advice, for sure. Happily I already have a dial type small torque wrench. I'm still looking for the proper manual if anyone can point me to it. I think our model diff is "44/216 ICA", if that's correct. Should I be looking for a manual from Dana/Spicer, or is...

Decided to DIY my diff -> 3.55 gears. Couple questions...

Thanks, Tom, and I'm happy to do so. Can you be more specific as to which tools you think I'm missing? I mentioned the pinion depth-setting tools, which are generally called out as being needed if you don't have the original pinion shim stack as reference. What else do you think is necessary...

Decided to DIY my diff -> 3.55 gears. Couple questions...

Thanks, Jay. If there's interest AND I'm able to convince myself that I know what I'm doing, I'll try to put together a thread for the Illustrated Upgrades section...

Decided to DIY my diff -> 3.55 gears. Couple questions...

I'm getting ready to switch out my stock gearing for a 3.55 set this winter. A while back, I asked whether this was a reasonable DIY project or not, and I get it that most folks advised me at that time that this was something I should just take to a pro to do. I appreciate that input, and it's...

Winter fun Mods (what are you doing)

3.55 gears are on my list, as well. Are you planning on digging into the diff yourself or dropping it off somewhere? Bryan '05 SRT10 Black Convertible

    Oil Cooling line is leaking

Good instructions, for sure, but I'd suggest that you don't use the JEGS fittings, based on my experience and those of others. Yes, they look good but they don't seem to seal very well... Bryan

    Oil Cooling line is leaking

+1 I tried making my own replacement lines using what I thought were good components. Turns out all JIC fittings are NOT created equal...

One full week of Gen 4 ownership.

+1 on the tender. This one works great, and it's cheap: http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-BM3B-Battery-Maintainer/dp/B0051D3MP6 I have mine hanging down from the garage door opener and just plug it into the lighter adapter every time I pull into the garage...

    RB1 question

I don't. I assume the only way to tell is to pull the unit out?

    RB1 question

I've read about a few people with RB1s in their Vipers, myself included, who experience the "lock up", whereby the screen may or may not be black, the radio may/may not be playing, but no controls work. My theory is that it's not designed to experience a significant time difference between when...

    iPhone kit?

Me too, but I got mine out of a wrecked '05 PT Cruiser. I'm interested to hear whether your brand new RB1 solves the problem of the unit "locking up" whereby the music plays but none of the controls work. (This seems to be exacerbated by the delay between turning the key on until the red...

    Lower shift boot

Dan -- this one of the best pieces of advice I've picked up so far about these cars. This works -- amazingly well! -- and I had a blast this weekend sticking 3rd gear every time. Thank you!!! Bryan

    Lower shift boot

Most places I looked at don't carry 1/4" rivets, but Harbor Freight has the tool + it comes with a box of rivets, FYI. Bryan

Weird Key Fob Issue When Trying to Add New Fob

Yup, same, confusing thing happened to me. Several times, in fact, until I figured this out. Totally unintuitive if you ask me, but perhaps it's done this way so you have a way to "kill" a remote that you're getting rid of, for who knows what reason... :)

Any tips on swapping a Gen3 hood with a Gen4?

My ebay find of a Gen4 hood just arrived and I was going to see how it bolted on tonight, with the help of a buddy. Any tips? Is it just a bolt-off / bolt-on / align-it kind of deal? I understand that I'll have to deal with grills and a pad at a later point, plus possibly bumpers / gaskets...

    DIY halfshaft questions

Oh, gosh, you definitely need to remove the rear wheels and a lot more... :) You have to imagine that the halfshaft is essentially held captive between the diff on the inner end and the hub on the outer end. In order to get enough horizontal freedom for the halfshaft to slide off the inner...

    DIY halfshaft questions

No major problems. I used a medium sized pry bar to pop off the halfshaft, using a thin piece of wood to protect the aluminum diff housing. No special puller tool needed, but you will need to disassemble quite a bit of the rear suspension on each side. As mentioned in this thread, I tried...
