What are the differences in the gen2 vs gen 3 engines? ( rod knock issue ) ---

As pointed out, Gen-2 and Gen-3 are completely different engine designs. Gen-1: Completely standalone design. Wet Sleeve, 488ci, 4.000x3.880, 9/16 hardware, 4 bolt main, Gen-1 head and water jacket design, separate thermostat housing, later intake manifold changed to a Gen-2 like design...

    Gen 1 gasket question

Thanks Ron! PS- check out the car show in Ellicottville later this month- trying to get everyone down there!

    Gen 1 gasket question

I must slightly disagree. If you really take the time to clean everything up in the engine bay like we do, you can easily have 2-4 hours alone in cleaning. Also, if you plan to do the full gasket upgrade and not just the heads, you will have substantially more time in front disassembly and...

1800 HP with an IN tank Fuel Pump

Yes, RSI makes the Double/Triple Walbro setup. The pump referenced however would allow the retention of the proper surge canister if plumbed correctly, which a double/triple hanger deletes.... but its all irrelevant if the pump fails, as this company is allegedly known for.

P1628 Powertrain ECT Pull Up Resistor?

PS that's a gm code description, not dodge. I would need to check the dodge description.

P1628 Powertrain ECT Pull Up Resistor?

No, it's not. The ECT pull up resistor is for the engine coolant temp sensor. It is an internal pcm resistor for supplying the engine coolant temp sensor a set current.

1800 HP with an IN tank Fuel Pump

Good idea... but still easier said than done to install in a Viper-like module and have it work properly. I have also heard of reliability issues from this company.

    Need Suggestions for New Radiator

LOL, and you are...? Your condescending comment does little more than prove you wouldn't know quality if you tripped over it and it smacked you dead in the face :D. I am not speculating based on what other people say, nor just a single experience. I have seen every single RD radiator in this...

You couldn't pay me to put another RD into a customers car.

    Gen 1 gasket question

If it helps or makes you more comfortable, we can handle the work from your doorstep and back. We can pencil you in for service, and send a truck for your car, repair, and return it to you in Ohio. Generally a Head Gasket change is a "full service" stop, ie all gasket updates, oil, filter...

    Gen 1 gasket question

Very difficult to see with the heat shields in place and the engine assembled. Perhaps with a mirror if you knew exactly what you were looking for and where... but thats far more hassle and sometimes inconclusive by comparison. I hate to say it, but very few Viper Mechanics [at dealers] have...

Wavetracs Differential, maybe not different from others at all.

That is absolutely not working right at all. Curious to see pictures of what is actually installed, or what happened to it...

    Gen 1 gasket question

It is quite easy to tell them apart. All we need is a picture of where the gasket sticks out between the head/block underneath the exhaust manifolds. You can view this from under the car. Highly unlikely they would have been changed unless they leaked very early- and many cars had the bad...

    Gen 1 gasket question

If anyone has any questions about this and associated service work, they can contact us directly. We were the vendor that had these gaskets produced for the aftermarket, and we also have our own line of gasket variations for Heads, and also the rest of the Gen-1/2 engines at this point...

    Tire pressure in gen 4.

If you dont want to go through the dealer programming hassle, you should be e-mailing us :) OE sensors need to be programmed by the dealer. We can "mimic" your bad sensor if you can get us the sensor(s) and/or codes, without the need for the dealer.

    IAC issues, please help...

What do you mean "what is the issue"? I just answered that above. The IAC is an Idle Air Controller. If it has a bad wire or terminal, the IAC will stop in a random position and cease to do its job. Depending on where it stops, it will either idle high, idle too low and stall, etc. When it...

    IAC issues, please help...

Bad wire or terminal to the IAC. It is a stepper motor, not spring loaded. It should "pulse" one step at a time as it moves around. 4 wires, two step it in one direction, the other two opposite. You CANNOT apply constant voltage, it needs a PWM signal.

Has anyone install the Mopar Performance Part # P5156137 gen4 heads for the gen3

Our version of this package uses a bigger cam, but not nearly as ridiculous as the 710- I wouldn't build that package unless someone twisted my arm. It is going to have severe tuning/driving difficulties on a cam that large, even if it makes great power. On our cam the package makes 615 RWHP...

    TPMS

The problem stems from the fact that the Viper is completely different than just about anything else. It is NOT self learning, and it does not have a "learn mode" either where sensors can be triggered or pressures can be raised/lowered for sensor/corner identification. The only way to enter...

    TPMS

Re-use the original, sure. But to replace them, you need to have them programmed at the dealer. The Viper TPMS is NOT a self-learning receiver module.

    TPMS

We CAN do that... but the problem is that we have run across people who don't even have the tires that are ON their car correctly programmed, or on the correct corners for that matter. The only way to be 100% certain is to scan the TPMS receiver module, which only the DRB3 can do.
