    Nightmare clutch... HELP... !

How has nobody sugggested the most obvious problem here? Clutch: Highly unlikely. If it works properly some of the time, it is most likely not clutch related. A defective clutch would be a constant problem in 99% of cases. Slave: A slave is a very simple hydraulic device. If its not...

    Need water pump and gasket

What he said. Figure out where it went, and if you are near the timing cover anyway, get all of those paper gaskets out of there and go AFM-type before you *DO* end up with a problem.

    Need opinions on clutch problems

If there was virtually nothing removed from flywheel, hydraulics are good and bled corectly, and a stock clutch was used, you probably need to pump the system back up. This can take FAR longer than you would think to do because of how the ystem is designed. Pump the pedal [more like "tap"] at...

AEM - stock ECU - and emissions

Wont work for him. MPPCM's only keep CELs off, they do not allow monitor testing/passing.

AEM - stock ECU - and emissions

The AEM is probably set up for use with different sensors at the moment, a number of which would not allow the engine to run on the OE ECU. Yes, we can re-wire the car for OBD-2 testability on any of the stand-alone ECUs, but it is a rather involved process overall.

    Average age of Viper owners?

Ha, no. Mine are in the garage :D That is another one I bought for a customer that I had brought into town the day before, and the other was being stored for a customer who was having the concrete in his garage done. That would be ironic that Google went down the street that day... that was...

    Average age of Viper owners?

Most people on this board who haven't actually met me would never guess how old I am correctly... let alone how old I was when I got into this game. There is nothing wrong with being young and getting into these types of cars. That is of course provided you are mature enough to handle the...

SRT10 Oil Pump Failure (Gen 3) w/ Photos

Just some comments of note here... This appears to be a predominantly Gen-3 issue... and for good reason. While it can happen in any engine, especially those with billet caps and a moved center line, the Gen-3 has failures without apparent cause. The Gen-3 rotors are cut differently than the...

    Will change the head gaskets...

Dont get me wrong- it completely depends on what you see when it comes apart. If the bolts are quite nasty, you will surely find some wonderful things in there. Either way, a stainless brush will get all of that out. The chaser is really only needed when you have a thread that galled a bit...

    Will change the head gaskets...

Nope, this is a Gen-1, they are 9/16-12 on the size. Generally the threads do not need to be chased unless they "feel funny" on the way out, they can be cleaned up with just a plastic [or stainless if really messy] bore brush of the right size and some brake cleaner/air pressure as long as...

strange electrical and starting issues in my 06 Viper

Check battery cables, battery negative to frame connection, and engine ground strap connection. If all are OK, its likely the battery. The intermittent nature however points to a loose cable, unless the intermittent issues are relative to the time between starts.

    Car value???

For what ts worth guys, a proper inspection by someone truly Viper competent is worth WAAAAAAY more than any CarFax or Mileage based purchase. 9 out of every 10 times we have a customer that thinks they got a "deal", we end up finding out the car has some kind of ridiculous history. Swain is in our back yard, and do some of our coatings. I have nothing but good things to say about all of their coatings, they do their job well. That being said, we have also used JetHot with very good success. Swain is the winner with regard to heat retention on exhaust coatings, but when...

250 miles in on my Viper - a few things I don't like...

OK... so let me get this straight. The "Enthusiast" with a join date of June 2012 is calling a Multi-Viper-Owner, Viper Vendor, Sponsor, VCA Venom Member, February of 2002 ViperClub.org veteran a "Troll"? That is the funniest thing I have seen all day! Thanks for the laugh. :lmao...

Ah... so, again, you miss the POINT of everything I posted being that PeerBlock is uninformed, and all you see is that I was turning this into a "Dan vs. Gen-5" thing? Convenient. You are right. This thread is a train-wreck. People selectively interpreting things tends to cause that.
