Central Florida Drag Race at Gainesville

Prices are up, rooms at the Hilton are now $109.00 / night. Most people seem to be leaning toward staying at the Hilton. If we get to 10 rooms we will get a group rate. The Hilton's phone number is 352-371-3600, but let me know if you are going to stay there as I need to try and work the...

    BFG Drag Radials

Bandit, These BFGs will hook great if the track is prepped. last week at Atlanta I could not get any traction, at my local track here in Orlando I am able to leave the line at 3500 rpm and the car dead hooks. For modest street driving the BFGs are ok, but you have to pump them up to 28-30...

Central Florida Drag Race at Gainesville

I grew up in Gainesville, so I know the lay of the land, however it has changed a lot in 20 years. The two hotels that I think would work best for us, in terms of distance to the track and a safe area for our cars are the Hilton and the Best Western. The Hilton is in the center of the city...

Central Florida Drag Race at Gainesville

Thinking about going up to Gainesville on Friday before the Central Florida Drag Racing event on Oct. 11th. Anyone else going to Gainesville on Friday? If so I can look into getting a hotel close to the track for everyone. Please advise, the event starts at 8 am on Saturday.

Lee Saunders BTR 750 GETS THE JOB DONE at Atlanta Last Night...............

Lee great job. I was running Lee in the other lane. I had about 230 lbs of extra ballast as Cudaman was strapped into the passenger seat with me. The starter did not want to let us run, as he said I was too fast to have a passenger. Finally he let us go with the promise that we would not run...

Supercharger Tuning for S.E. Zone Rendezvous

I would join you Larry, but with your last tunning you did and those new throttle bodies you sold me the car rocks. Butt dyno is way up, I don't want to mess with perfection. If I get in on Thursday I'll try to make it over to the dyno.

Cudaman smokes a low ET and 60 ft on Pilots

Way to go Cudaman!!! I heard you ripped that time while you were still buckling up your harness etc. Maybe we should put your car on the line and make you wait until the lights start before letting you in, I bet you'll pull that 9 second pass you've been looking for. Hows the King ranch doing...

Please assist on tire selection at the strip (1/4 mile)...

I can launch at 3500 rpm on the BFG Drag radials, they hook great at 17.5 psi. It is a good compromise for light street duty and light strip duty. No wandering at the 1000 ft mark and no need to change front tires. I usually drive around for a few days after going to the track until I have...

VCA DRAG RACING AT GAINESVILLE SET FOR SATURDAY OCT. 11

Jkracer9, As long as your car is a street car, a roll bar with the side bar is NHRA legal to 10.00 seconds, different rules apply to full convertibles. If you run under 10.00 seconds you may need additional equipment. It has been my experience at many different tracks that if your car runs...

Best ET and 60 foot on Pilots?

I have been away on vacation, but since I was involved in this post I thought I had better respond. Tom, I don't know you, but when you post you seem to create a lot of flames, maybe it is smart marketing on your side, but usually I don't come away with a good feeling about you or your...

Raced a Pro Street car, glad Macedo did my brakes

I did not beat him, I just about came to a complete stop 3/4 the way down the track, I had to put it in second to finish, interestingly I still ran a 15 second something. The pads on the car are EBC greens. I didn't like them at first, but once they broke in they worked a lot better. With...

    Any probs w/ the Roe S/C ??

MHQC, Your point is well taken, however there are not too many stock Vipers running in the elevens in this kind of heat and humidity. My car went 11.92 at 119 mph before the super charger, but that was in ideal conditions. My car now will hammer out low 11s' at a terrible track in terrible...

Raced a Pro Street car, glad Macedo did my brakes

Well, the fluid is a Ford high temp fluid, which is the same, but a lot less than the race fluid. Most ford Dealerships have. Don't tell anybody I am using Ford anything in my car.

    Any probs w/ the Roe S/C ??

MHQC, High 10s are very attainable, the only thing that has kept me out of that arena is the humid summer heat. Last week with a lot of heat soak I was running low to mid 11's, but the track was empty and we were making run after run, no time to cool down. No one was running well, there was a...

Raced a Pro Street car, glad Macedo did my brakes

This is not a pitch for a tuner, but I wanted to thank Larry Macedo for talking me into upgrading my brakes with ss lines, pads and high temp fluid. Last week I was at the track, when I staged I thought I was going to make a solo run, but then the starter pulled a Pro Street Thunderbird into...

    Any probs w/ the Roe S/C ??

I was one of the first creampuff cars to get the VEC2 and supercharger together as a package. At first the car threw a misfire code, although it was not mis-firing. Sean was always available to me or Larry Macedo when we were trying to work out the bugs, as he still is today. After Roe made a...

    ZO6 versus Supercharged Viper? HELP!

I agree with Treynor, get traction and blow his doors off. No matter what he has done, unless he has gone very radical which you would be able to hear, he won't be able to keep up with your torque. I have the BFGs on Purner Wheels, I was launching at 3000 - 3500 rpm the other night at the...

Cobra Owner took car apart to try and beat me

No, but the hood was up and the Roe Supercharger is hard to miss. Since he is probably runing 14-17 psi and I'm running only 5 psi I don't feel to bad for him.
