    ACR-X Brakes

I have now done 5 events on these rings, and they had held up admirably - no issues at all. I've driven the car around the block a few times after the last day and I am happy to report that there is no shimmer/vibration at all that I can notice (Brembos would have been a little rough at this...

My "ACR-X style" rotor experience: street and track

I've tried these out on the track (as well as XR5 pads from the same manufacturer) last Saturday, and they work as advertised. It was a cooler, damp day, so I cannot speak to rotor performance in "maximum stress" conditions. The rotors looked as expected at the end of the first day with a couple...

oh yes, same, if not worse, in the dry.

    ACR-X Brakes

was re-watching some videos and found a clip from my very last day on Brembos, just before the picture showing damaged holes was taken. you can see how much the front end is shaking on the straight, and especially when braking into turn 1 - check out 1.45 and 3.40 in the video...

    ACR-X Brakes

I re-used ST, DBA and Brembo fasteners on 2-piece rotors quite a few times (which is against manufacturers' recommendation). I have never had issues caused by that. I have seen StopTech fasteners loosen/back off at the track once, although I suspect improper assembly more than anything else...

My "ACR-X style" rotor experience: street and track

Nice find! Confirmed (now that I know where to look, they are almost invisible on mine at this point)

    ACR-X Brakes

Initial bite is more gradual/"softer" with RB rings compared to Brembo. Either one has more pronounced bite compared to ST/D968 combination. As far as "why not just use ST": Constant torque is likely similar or higher. Maximum braking force/deceleration is, of course, unaffected, as that will...

My "ACR-X style" rotor experience: street and track

Unfortunately, Brembo Motorsports catalog only lists P/Ns for "assembley' ( which includes both hats and rings): 90.9303 and 90.9304. I do not believe the hats have any numbers on them, but I can double check tonight.

    ACR-X Brakes

there is now a version that fits as well as Brembo motorsports ring! Details here: http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/669447-My-quot-ACR-X-style-quot-rotor-experience-street-and-track yep the post above describes my experience with Brembo "J groove" rings exactly^

My "ACR-X style" rotor experience: street and track

I recently had a chance to try an alternative for Brembo’s “Wide Ring” ACR-X rotors, which provide larger friction surface, and accommodate “D1001” shape pad. As many of you know, Brembo caliper used as OEM on GenVI Vipers is able to fit both “D968” brake pad (SRT-10/ACR) as well as “D1001”...

    ACR-X Brakes

Below is a picture showing pad wear for the "standard" EVO/CVS-V pad shape over RB ring. I did grind my next set of pads to remove material in that area and that helped with this issue. I put about a dozen of heat cycles on them on a track that's very hard on the brakes - I wore a brand new...

Some pictures of my GTS at Pacific

if your survived your first track day with a Viper at Pacific, in the rain, you will have no problems with this car! :2tu:

    ACR-X Brakes

RB "Mustang" ring fits the brembo racing ACR-X hat. There a couple of spots where the pad ends up overlapping the friction surface of the rotor, creating non-standard wear. I do like the "feel" of initial application in high-speed braking sections, it is easier to modulate the initial...

Someone please make this for 2006-2010

unless the roof/hatch/rear bumper are designed to work with it, the benefit to handling will be none or worse

    ACR-X Brakes

update: RB does have a replacement ring that seems to match the dimensions of ACR-X Brembo piece close enough to fit Brembo hat. It is much, much cheaper than Brembo part. I will be trying that in the next few days, will update. From the picture, it also looks like the slot geometry is a little...

    ACR-X Brakes

I have used ACR-X rotors with a few variations on pad compounds (all from Carbotech, they can make these in any compound, the shape is "EVO VIII/IX/X, CTS-V Caliper - .630"/16mm ") Some observations: 1. I had to go to less aggressive compounds, in both front and back (I run racingbrake rings...

looking for IV gen spindle/upright (pass side rear)

if you are parting out a car, will consider taking some control arm bushings and various suspension joints/boots off your hands in a package type of deal, but the main goal is to replace the upright due to damaged thread in both caliper bolt holes :(

gen4 oil cooler lines - replacements?

do you guys know anyone who sells pre-assembled lines of right lengths with fittings that hold up better than stock ones (Gen 4)? mine are staring to slowly leak. Figured the track crowd should have ran into this.

HANS device info needed from bigger drivers !

as with most racing gear you are WAY better off going to the brick and mortar store and trying it on rather than relying on the advice from the internet. There are many variables - size/shape of your neck and shoulders, and even your helmet shape and preferred angle of the seat - and all are...

    First Gen V crash was a GTS-R

just some growing pains, better get over those now and have cars and drivers dialed in for the next season. refreshing to see honest description from the driver instead of all-too-common excuses BS, I think he will have a lot of fun with this car.

    No Brake pressure

he could have pushed the air back up into the system far enough to affect the hydraulics a lot more than it did just sitting in one caliper/caliper line. once your pedal starts doing funny things after something like that, first thing to try is full system bleed (not just a few pumps at each...
