Many great points raised in here. If someone likes the car or not visually is clearly an opinion thing and better answered when seen in person, but the haters because it only had 640HP has to be the craziest. Is that really the first thing a Viper owner talks about with a Mustang guy? And...
I am a gen 3 owner and never was a big fan of the gen2, but love the new car more than any other gen. Love the new front, love how all the lines flow together and love the rear. Interior is spectacular. Seriously, I dread the day one of these parks next to mine or any of your gen 1/2/3/4's...
Jump in a new Range Rover and you will be blown away by this new dash technology. I was very skeptical until I saw one last week and could not believe they weren't real guages until the salesmen started changed to other screen options. amazing stuff. Nothing like the digital dashes of the...
I get very confused everytime I see this corvette comparison. can you share a picture of what you are referring to? The fronts are so completely different with the vette being much more angular, etc.
talk about smoking... Show me the picture of any vette year that looks like the front of this car. (comment as silly as prior comments that front looks like a transam or the rear looks like an audi) Just post the picture of the vette that you thinks has the same front.
I am pretty sure those weren't on the voi car, but likely a legal requirement. At VOI, the rear defuser and the tail light surrounds were the carbon fiber and is what seems to be the case in these pics. I think the surrounds might look better in the car color, but do remember it being...
I think that is it as well. I can't tell, but car at VOI had flush rectangle exhaust exits and this seems to show that as well. (none of the prior leaked images had that)
really? I am not seeing it. http://www.firebirdtaclub.com/classifieds/clfd99TAAnniv.jpg is a pic of a 99 trans am of which no side vents or dips in hood. only thing it has is a double bulge in the center.
You must explain that comment. "quickest way to ruin a brand is to sell more?"
btw, 1994 sold 3000, 2004 sold 2400 units and 2005 sold 2000. Did the 94 ruin the brand?
What is the recent "track record" you are referring to? I would think the recent track record shows a willingness to continue to build better performance and listening to customers. Saying it will compete/beat 911's is a huge compliment, particular if a track guy. If the interior had the...
in person, I think you would better see the bulges fit perfectly with the roof and dramatic look in person. Not sure how a convt would look.
also, Ralph mentioned likely different hoods for conv, coupe, acr with the acr version being the wildest
Ahh, gotcha and that perspective helps. I happen to love the hood and thought it along with the rear were the best looking parts and happy to see them depart from the past, but if I had felt the louvers were a core viper design point, I could understand why you would be dissapointed. For me...
Thank goodness. The new view looks integrated into the design vs tacked on and emphasizes the curves of the car better. I am very happy the vents (old style) are gone.
Also, remember this hood design was designed before the SRT Jeep, so you know where the design cue came from.
"Impressive" was the word to come to mind for me. Wide, in your face, unique and still clearly a viper.
Intersting how no teasers of the rear so far... I actually thought the rear of the car at VOI was awesome.
Have you owned or driven one of these cars? Trying to keep up with your logic, but to summarize - only buy a 100k car if your rich, The gen4 is a "miss" (for some very questionable items you list), the GT500 is some how a hit, a Mustang with a pully would run w a GEN 5 "easily" (I guess...
I am not sure stitching = high $. Look even that chrysler 300's and 200's and they have these features with even more surface area. This should not be an expensive option, but instead a min bar in today's world. Shoot, only Ford trucks don't offer this today...
I will say the shots are...
And you think the viper design was "too busy" compared to this?
Like I say (and others as well), the rendering does not do a great job of showing the details or the size (big or small).
There were so many improvements and the details, but will list a few:
1) The hood was amazing in person and the bulges/roundness was spectacular. (no real angular shapes)
2) The Rear details were stunning as well (from the glass to the dip in the roof flowing to the glass to the spoiler) and...
