LoL at the op's pics, and the responces. :)
I think itd be cool if a sequential trans was available as an Option on the ACR.
I'd prefer for the shifter control to remain in the center(like a lot of racecars) as a single knob that is bumped foward or back.
Having buttons on the steering wheel...
I replaced with the OEM ones and they lasted for a year. Now they just provide resistance and make it hard to pull open. It does stay open though... so i guess better than nothing... Im always in and out of my hatch though so think ill give some cheap ones a shot and see how long they last.
A few Q's for you:
1. What shifter do you have? Some(B&M) have a plastic gasket/shim that degrades over.time and falls out leaving the shifter loose.
2. What year is your Viper?
3. Have you ever changed the original trans fluid? If yes, with the dextron/ATF, or the SynthMTF?
4. What...
Google "Timezone" and read up. Apparently this weird thing happens and when its 11:45pm here on the east coast its simultaneously 8:45pm on the west coast (for example California where we have many many VCA members and enthusiasts). Also, dont forget our buddies on the other side of the world. :-)
Its common for the lower shifter boot to split. Im not sure, but aftermarket shifters(not knobs) could possibly expediate the wearing. When i replaced my torn boot i noticed that the shifter(B&M) stretched the boot when in the foward or back gates. Basically were talking about a piece of rubber...
The lower gear(higher#) will spin faster creating more heat & friction resulting in a slight diff in tq/hp. I think its only like 2-3 difference which basically gets lost in the +/- accuracy of the machine and +/- consistancy of the conditions & pulls. Not worth bringing up IMO especially...
+1
Ill never forget being at the G5 unveiling in NYC and looking at the raw hoods up close that were mounted on the wall like fine art. There was a guy standing next to one and after me and someone were starring at it with our jaws on the floor for a bit he asked us if we had and questions. I...
Rather than guessing, you should have gone back and fourth a few times with someone standing back there to replicate the sound and pinpoint where it was coming from.
If your interested in the car then go back and do that and you could also have them put it on a lift to inspect.
the Viper experience can be considered a bit brutal. Some people might buy then realize that they can only tollerate driving every once in awhile.
I put over 5k on my GTS every year. Its fun, but there are some times when i drive several days in a row then get "Vipered out" where i feal like i...
If you disconnect the fuel filter will she leak out?
I remember driving my tank close to empty before changing my fuel filter just in case but dont remember much leaking out...
I'd call the Wizard to get his input before drilling out the fuelpump rivets. He might have an easier method.
Cant beat the price on the stockers from VPA:
https://www.viperpartsofamerica.com/index.php/products/1992-2002-dodge-viper-vented-brake-rotor-set-by-brembo
Thats what i run with street tires & Hawk HPS pads for the street & track.
If you want to spend more $ for better performing rotors then i...
I dont run a spare , or stereo, or windshield fluid bottle, or winshield wipers, or rear exhuast... what do we need any of that junk for? :-)
.
Just pull the carpet up and look for the slot they are talking about.
Super Glad to see this is in the works cause im still few years out on opening my beast up. Can not wait till the day i am able to make the call.
If this partly automated process is able to bring the pricing down on sending in my Gen2's then that would definitely speed up me being able to write...
i did that once. took forever to get through the stranded steel bead and my arms felt like they were going to fall off from the vibration of holding the tire while my buddy maned the sawzaw. Lol
If all your looking for is a 3" pipe then just go to any exhaust shop and ask them to cut one for you. They can expand the ends to make it a slip joint or leave it be and use the 3" wide band clamps.
LOL, Im pretty sure Mopar is not making many(if any) Gen1/2 Viper specific part any more. Those door stanchions were likely produced in a couple big batches and been sitting in stock for 10 years. Whats left in stock in the mopar warehouses and VPA is what you get. Even if you get one that looks...
