Thank you all guys. All is done. First time I must have not adjust it all properly and it was handing at the idle, so I took TB off again and readjusted it, now its all good, no hanging :-).
I was wondering if anyone has a link to the "install how to
" with the color photos of the TB install :-). The instructions with the black pictures leave few items to the guessing.
I couldn't wait until tomorrow morning, so I started install process today. I got it down to the spring install...
Got my brand new XMetal TB last night, didn't have a chance to do the work yet, but got bit scared by 9 pages of instructions :omg:... I hope it will be easier to understand those instructions when I will be taking my OEM TB apart. Any tips on how to make sure that install goes well and TB does...
Dan, do you have Gen 3 HP dyno numbers as well? I would be interested in Gen3 numbers and I am sure lots of folks from Gen 3 crowed will agree with me. Specially HP numbers with the high flow cats.
Yep, I figured that Gen 3 and Gen 4 are different manifolds :).
Dan, did you have a success on porting Gen3 Manifold and picking up some proven Dyno numbers?
Sorry, if I am not getting it right, so you are saing that you gained a total of 10HP at the pick RPM 5K+, but lost some torque at 3K? How much torque did you loose and did the car regain that torque back at higher RPM?
Oh and is this Gen3 or Gen4?
Thanks,
I currently run HP Plus pads front and rear on the car. I think it is great pads for street, not noisy almost no dust and they stop car good for an occasional aggressive driver. I also run those pads on the track and to be honest even though these supposedly a track day pads, I cannot say that...
That is exactly why I hesitate to do that upgrade. I've seen Ported manifold done from 400 to 1500. Lets say for mid terms of 700 and good tuning if I can pick up 15HP for 700 it would worth to me, question is if I pick up those HP or loose some on the stock engine.
I guess we need some core...
Greg, thanks for pitching in. I would never be able to explain in tech terms why it is not recommended to do the porting with stock heads.
Greg, the info you gave above, are you saying it from your experience knowing the engine flow or you actually had a chance to see dyno numbers on the car...
How long did it take you to follow the instructions to install XMetal TB? Also, I noticed you have a ported Intake, who did you get it from, this is another piece of bolt on that I am very interested in. How much did you pay for it? Did you install it yourself?
Guys, I never dealt with Arrow Racing, is this a reputable shop? Meaning, these guys are not just trying to sell staff by giving BS HP increase on their product results?
I know Greg Good is one of the best Viper engine tinkers, and I was told that Greg is not a fan of porting intake on the stock...
