In cold weather - I agree.
As for warm weather, my '06 dug-in pretty well on the street with 3.55's, both on Runflats and PS2's. I could easly take off and go WOT in 1st gear, in most situations.(assuming I ever drove in that manner;))
I paid around ~600 when I had them installed in my '06. Though he really took his time and made sure everything was perfect since it was his first time installing gears in a Viper. I never had a problem with them either.:2tu:
I've heard others had them done in the $4-500 range.
Really...
Well, I was referring to the '03 to '06 Vipers and that's what I read they were capable of. ;)
With the stock gears in my '06, it did about the same as your '08 in 4th gear. I chose not to try 5th.
My new '08 hasn't been over 3,500 rpms yet.
Basically, it'll make 2nd gear feel like your first gear does now. And first really jumps vs. a stock geared, stock motored Viper.:D
Around town driving and parking lot situations are easier when you need to be careful and go slower.
It also makes 6th gear useable at around 60mph, so...
I'm still messing with the 1" Seat Lowering Kit.
I called Mark @ Woodhouse last Friday and he told me the new 'Gateway Airbag Module' under the seat needs to be mounted on the underside of the bracket (vs. the top of the bracket where it's mounted from the factory).
I'm assuming it should be...
I just got mine yesterday, and I've been wondering how the drive-by-wire would feel. Especially after driving my bud's Shelby GT500 that you can't maintain a steady RPM.
I was pleasantly surprised at the throttle control and response!
Mine had been sitting since at least May too, so it was...
Today I received a delivery from Ringgold. 10 miles on the clock and Purdy! Again, the transaction was smooth and extremely easy. If/When I'm ever in the market for another market, Ringgold will be the first place I try!!
I can understand that everyone has different tastes, and I've heard...
Viper Truck Club of America
Thanks for the deal last year on the Corsa Track system Cindi! Now it looks as if my '06 is getting traded for an '08, so ya got any more sitting around?:D
Well, the 06's had only 510hp/535tq.
The 08'/'09 Vipers have 600hp/560tq. Better trans and rear too! Probably the reason I'm looking to upgrade.:D
I *think* the brakes are all the same except for the ACR's. 06's use RunFlat tires from the factory, while the 08'/09' use PS2's.
I put PS2's...
I heard that the 08's have a new airbag sensor under the seat, so the seat lowering kits won't work. Or at least without some modifications.
I'm expecting to Trade-Up to an '08 shortly, and was wondering if anyone has solved this issue as of yet?:dunno:
I've got PS2's on my '06 Coupe.
You have to be real careful in the cold temps with these too! They will stick somewhat better once they warm up, but still nothing like warm weather.
When they're cold and the temps are low, it's sorta like ice-skating.
