52k base price verses 102k base price. Why do people even try and act like vettes and vipers are in the same class. There is a HUGE differance in ownership betweeen the two cars. Sure you could but a fully optioned z06 carbon at 100k that matches the price of a base viper. I get that.
You can...
A boxster cayman 911 and 185k whatever all look the same too me. Its just another corvette in my eyes. Not somthing Id lust after. To each there own....also looks like somthing a girl would drive. But tens is fast no doubt
I think free2go and Gonnabite came up with some really good stuff.
I'd say the z06 is a hot asian women. A solid 8. Cant argue with that because I've been with them all my life.
As hot as my Japanese..Korean..Vietnamese ect women have been. Really a hot asian women is a dime a dozen and plenty...
Its not personal opinion on looks lol. My yellow gen 3 @my buddies yellow c6z were very close in looks. If the z06 was a 7.8 the viper was an 8.5. However like you said that is very subjective. What isnt subjective is that fact that here in hawaii you are lucky to see one viper a year whereas...
Gonnabite. This is a huge part of car ownership. I've been the guy in a corvette parked between an bah viper and surpass. No one gives a crap about the vette.
People would surround the other cars asking questions. But the vettes are invisible. This goes for the z06s as well.
Say what you want...
I also have very mixed feelings on the z06. Just as another vette? Or a car that deserves respect amongst the rarer breeds? My buddy has a 2007 yellow z06 parked down the street. I couldn't give a carp about it. See em all the time in one form or another. How will this one be any differant 3...
Yes..That's just not fun at all. I've had auto cars that could run a certain number every time and then manual v ipers. Cutting my gen3s time from 12.2 @119 to 11.4 @ 126.... sure it took money for some modifications. But the practice and run after run and then finally doing everything right and...
Yes thats a sinister launch that the automatic rear wheel drive c7 has. If...If the launch is similar the yes. 10s all day. But with 650 torque and 625 hp...that would take brilliance beyond anything we've ever seen on a rear wheel drive car with a 50/50 weight distribution. Gm is gonna...
To me all I've seen so far are specs. The zr1s 3350 pounds and 638 hp trumps 3450 pounds and 625hp.
To me its almost like Gm decided...Hey were gonna basically give them a ZR1 for 85k and call it a Z06. Then some brilliant employee stated how people who paid 113k for zr1s might be...
Didn't mean disrespect. I frequented the vette forums 10 years ago and Ranger and Furman are the names that I remember as the holy grail of drag racing.
If I recall Ranger would actually sit in his garage and close his eyes and practice shifting through the quarter mile over and over again. I...
All the reviews I saw had the viper even or a little faster than the zr1 straight line. From a roll on road courses they said it pulled harder than the zr1.
As far as quarter mile times. Viper owners track there cars. Vette guys track and quartermile.
Maybe three people have dragged raced...
Why would a 635 hp corvette at 3450 pounds be faster than a 640 hp viper at 3350 pounds manual to manual?
Some of you are smoking crack. From what I see so far the viper is more powerful and weighs less?????
Other than the quick shifting 8 speed auto from a dig how do we figure the z06 is...
If the price is right were in for a fight.
Dollar for dollar I'd take a hand built one off low production semi exotic v10 over a z06 any day of the week. But if a base z06 comes in at 80 k you'd be an idiot not to buy it imho
Re: Gen 4 & 5 Performance Well Hidden, Greg Good Heads Dyno, 708 Cam Stock Improvemen
My 99 rt10 dynoed 450 rwhp with most bolt ons.
My 2003 srt dynoed 555 r whp with most bolt ons plus a 710 camshaft from roe racing. I never had a supercharged viper.
What I noticed with my 550 r whp gen 3...
