    check engine light on?

OBD 1 codes ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS 1. Cycle the ignition key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON within 5 seconds. To cycle the ignition key ON means to turn it only as far as it takes to get the radio to come on. It does not mean to turn the engine on. 2. Count the number of times the "check engine" lamp on...

Diamondback hood pics on a GTS finally!!!

wow, love the track photos. Roger you should show a before and after, it hard to tell how much more curves your hood has. When you see the hoods side by side it makes the stock hood look plain!

    Loss of Vacuum?

I think a couple hundredths will make a differance. I always thought the TPS read .5-5 volts? Good info, I think the 4 volts is correct the the manual is wrong. The TPS will not adjust for A/F that would be the o2 sensors, they would correct the condition caused the the TPS. I think he found...

Crankcase Vacuum Pump, I've got smoke

not to be insulting, but are you sure its oil. If you are running really rich and you dont have the vec 2 set correctly (trim fuel at full vaccuum) it could be gas. Is the smoke black or blue?

Crankcase Vacuum Pump, I've got smoke

do a leakdown test, I suspect valves over rings as you are not pressurizing the coolent system.

Is this a common problem with the first gens?

that does not look like the stress crack issue. That looks like paint seporation. Take more pics. It looks like you will have to have that portion of the hood stripped. sealed and the entire hood refinished. The stress cracks and also be repaired, but they dont look like that.

Diamondback hood for the 92-02 Viper is finally available...

With that logic then a gen 1 should sell for $3500:rolleyes: ...I know of two gen1 hoods for $2000 with damage and $3000 perfect, and a good gen 2 for $4000 and I think I could chew him down on the gen 2. Maybe you got more for yours because you sold it with all the trim (grills and duct) I...

Diamondback hood for the 92-02 Viper is finally available...

I think you got lucky at $4500, good for you. Yes a Gen 1 in good shape will sell for about $2500, look for the stress cracks (can be fixed, but the hood is worth less with them) A gen 2 hood should sell for about $3500

#3 - Detonation, Hypereutectic Pistons, Timing....

I orginally thought detonation happend before the spark, and that is not that case, I just wanted to point that out.

#3 - Detonation, Hypereutectic Pistons, Timing....

"Simply put, we have an explosive, instantaneous explosion near the top of the piston stroke, too early, with a massive pressure wave" Not exactly, detonation is the spontaneous combustion of the remaining gas in the chamber, it occurs AFTER the normal combustion occurs not before. The heat...

    VEC2 PWM Question

DY, Yes the PWM is set to fire at a certain RPM and Boost, but it also fires during cranking, which floods the motor. wow I did not know that!! I am using it for w/m at 10#+ boost. I wondered why it sprayed once when starting the motor so I unhooked it for now. as I did not want to...

    Closed Loop Operations....

simply put, the car uses sensor input to adjust air fuel vs open loop where that ratio is not controlled by input of sensors, but by pre-programmed code in the PCM.

Need advice on what to look for on a '94 RT/10

...cracked/grommets around the gas filler tube, on the tank end....causes a "gas smell" Yeah I have that now! The biggest thing is the headgaskets, The hood can be repaired and who drives these in the rain?

    ECU pinout ?

you can use the AEM, but you will have to make you own connections to the factory connections. You will also need heated o2 sensors instead of the OBD1 style. I too would suggest the Vec2.

    I found a fried wire

not sure, but I think when its unpluged you alt will not be effected, so if the power wire is not connected it will not do anything, but if the wires are shorted it should pop a fuse, is this by chance on the same circuit as you radio?

    Rear Wheel is Cocked

Sure jack your car up for a day off the suspension. When you set it down your car will look like a 4x4. I agree any good aligment shop can do these, but dont take it to your local monroe muffle!

    Rear Wheel is Cocked

some times it takes a couple of days for the suspension to "settle" I would get it on a flat surface and do your own quick alignement check. use a tape measure (better yet a trame) and measure from the outside tread of one wheel to the outside tread of the other from the front and back and...
