Good to hear there are no cons! I am planning on buying one this week in preparation for TX2K13 (spectating) and summer cruises.
Where does everyone mount them in their viper? Does something out of the box work well or do I have to buy something aftermarket?
The only difficult part is getting the vinyl to stretch into the gauge surrounds without ripping. If you have the MGW bezels, it'll be a cinch. I bought the 2'x5' and have half the material sitting in my garage now.
The ironic part is that I had to take everything apart again to do my LED...
Awesome! I'm excited to see a couple of these mods. I am getting my 5 spokes powder-coated black and was considering getting my calipers powder coated Porsche Yellow, so it will be nice to see the results!
I assume you are painting the calipers as oppose to powder coat because you were...
I bought my private party 2008 coupe for $64,500. It had 2,000 miles and was one owner, not a scratch or mod on the car, nav system, etc.
So it's possible to find one in your price range with low mileage.
It's easy to tell because basically when you drive past any storefront with an automatic door, it'll set off the X band radar. Depending on what state or area you live in, most cops use strictly Ka band. On the radar detector, a light blinks next to what kind of radar band is being detected...
Correct, You just piggyback it into the mirror connections by sticking the prongs in. Literally a 2-minute install and makes your dash so much cleaner! Best $15 I've spent.

This is where I bought mine. Takes 10 seconds to install and works perfectly. There's a thread on here about which plug goes where to tap the mirror power.
It's very tedious in the regard that you have to wait a minimum of 15-20 minutes between each coat, but other than that it isn't bad.
I basically sat on my couch on saturday and every 30 minutes walked out to the garage and sprayed another coat. There is definitely an art to spraying this...
I love my V1. It does get a little squawky in town but I can say that as long as you look up and see if it's the Ka then you know whether it's legitimate.
As far as detection in town, if a cop is within 3-4 blocks in any direction with radar on, it will let you know. That's my favorite...
Nope! Just plasti-dip. 5 coats of black + 4 coats of glossifier. If I like the gloss black (which I do so far), then I'm going to PC them permanently. Just hard to decide because I'd like to maintain the resale value of my 5 spokes if I go aftermarket at some point.
I can't take it anymore either. I bought my 2008 Coupe in the late fall of last year so I didn't get much drive time.
My wife watched me flip through the pictures of my Viper about 3 times yesterday on the couch.
Even worse I have been making mods to it over the winter and just to...
Mine are due in a week so I'll install them and post some pics as well.
I'm in Illinois so it may be awhile before a driving review! Gonna get down to -2 tonight!
I just ordered the Vipair shocks a week ago. They are around 1500 shipped and the shock is made for a lowered ride height.
See thread here ---> http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/656510-New-coilovers-hitting-the-streets
MGW sells them. Kinda pricey for what it is but it's billet and very good quality so no complaints. I would like to add the matching MGW gauge bezels but they are rediculously priced IMHO.
I got mine wrapped last night... Pretty big pain in the butt, took me about 5 hours with dis-assembly and re-assembly, but I"m happy with the result. I'm not super thrilled without the amount of orange peel in the 3M vinyl, so I may end up painting it now that I know I like the look over stock...
Ha, well I bought it from the same place but I bought the 2'x5' so I can screw up one panel and be able to redo. Also, I planned on doing it in one night so maybe I should re-evaluate that one :D
This isn't my first time I will be applying vinyl, so I think i'll be okay. Heat gun worked...
Ironic. I just got the material in today to do mine in 3M 1080 Gloss Black to match the exterior of the car.
Was it hard to get the vinyl into the recessed gauge areas or into the cupholder? I bought the MGW cupholder trim ring just in case I couldn't get it to bend in enough with the...
