    01's are notorious for having water pump impeller operating intermittently due to plastic impeller working loose. That's where I would start.

    I was under the impression that there was a part revision as this problem was becoming common. I suspect most cars never get exposed to rain that often.

    It's called a door stanchion. Based on pictures, appears to be for Gen 1. Not sure about Gen 1, but they are pretty pricey on Gen 2. You may want to consider repairing.

    The rear end fluid is very thick almost like pancake syrup. I would definitely check the rear end fluid.

    When the flywheel was resurfaced, was it also re-balanced? You may also try disconnected drive shaft and re-connecting it after rotating it 180 degrees.

    Fuel Stabilizer?

    I have been using fuel stabilizer for years for winter storage. I don't use during the driving season as I drive it enough, or at least I used to. Using Stabil is a good idea.

    I don't recall there ever being the option to do a wheel delete on the ACR package. Now there were some 96 GTS with unpolished wheels out there, so anything is possible I suppose.

    Not sure you can go wrong with either option. Since you know color you want, Narrow your search to 96/97 and then determine what car out there provides the best value for you. Good luck.

    Thanks for the post, I am always getting after people about changing their tires out every 5- 7 years regardless of tread. Glad you were able to escape harm and glad the car escaped harm as well. Your willingness to post your situation may in fact save someone else's life.
