tough to make money on a car when in '10 they made less than 700 vehicles......yes the economy didnt help. IMHO i think that the price increases in the car over the years didnt help either starting w/ a cost of approx $50,000('92)----------to over $93,000(for a base car((non ACR)) in '10)...
not trying to argue either just pointing out that big hp was available in '65 in the Cobra, and some of the other engines i mentioned also. I also have heard more than a few times that a well tuned 440 that was well tuned would take a Hemi. The Chevy 427's also did well in various guise...
you are correct i knew i was forgetting a step along way......we could also add in the VOI cars that got the Arrow Racing package installed(hp unknown)
dont mean to correct
400-->450-->460(smooth tubes on gts-r(gt1 replicas)-->505-->510(new rating system same engine)-->600-->640.........sorry just playing around but true
i have heard a rule of thumb, that for each 8-10lbs removed from a vehicle is like adding one hp, so w/ the track pac(150+lbs savings) option is like adding almost 15-20 hp
Moss-Magnussen(sp?) warranty act, they would have to prove that the headers made the part that went bad....went bad from the say headers, wont have an effect on a seat cushion, or a window....
but there are mod-friendly and nonmod-friendly dealers.
so if you put on headers and a...
Never pay over MSRP for a car that is still in current production, unless you have so much money it doesnt matter and you really want to be the first on you block to own one. They are going to make more of them
a number of years ago a car mag/rag did a comparo of the Ford GT, Corvette ZO6, and The Dodge Viper SRT-10('04 or '05 so 510 hp) at Gingerman Raceway in SW Michigan the best track time was basically a tie w/ Viper and GT. The Viper is/was way down on hp compared to the GT
i like the vert ps, but dont much care for a speedster bubble behind cabin. *
*SRT please make the roll hoops structural, NOT padded hollow aluminum tubes**
publically under rating an engine wont get you a law suit like for had w the Cobra Mustangs years ago, when all the cars were found to be under the "claimed" hp
agreed, the new Viper must be the lightest production car out there w/ this high of power output, i think the ZR1 it a bit heavier, Veyron is 4,000lbs. 640 should get it done the tougher thing is going to be keeping the power put to the ground(at least w/ the newly added electronic nannies...
def got some 599 GTO, and FXX DNA along w/ lots of GTS. the HP should be more than adequate. The mustang w/ big hp weighs 500-600lbs more than this car, and come on its got 4 seats, its not a sports car! The Veyron has lots more hp 1000-1300 depending on model, it weights over 4,000...
