This is a sad story but how in the heck can the dealer be responsible for water damage if this buyer had the car shipped via open trailer unless they stated the possible effects of going cross country uncovered to the new owner. It's obvious this guy jumped in to this with his eyes closed...
This is a great suggestion but the bottom line is that the majority of owners have at one time or another had history with a variety of muscle cars. Some of the cars I helped build and drove daily to high school would pull wheel stands. This was in the late 60's when there were real muscle cars...
I grabbed my head mechanic on his lunch hour and took him to my house. He got under the car and looked around and thought he found the source in the power steering hose area. I got in and started the car and turned the wheel all the way to the stopper. Needless to say he got sprayed. Looks like...
Thanks Tom. I'm going to try again today to see if I can find the leak after putting fluid back in. The car starts and runs fine without a drip or leak anywhere so I'm thinking whatever reservoir was leaking emptied itself and will start leaking again when I put fluid PS back in. I sure hope...
Just spent the best part of an hour under the car with a worklight and rags. I could not find a bad hose, any heavy oil anywhere. Something blew but I can't find it. I'm going to get some Mopar PS fluid and fill the reservoir back up and see if the leak is there. The pump and all under was dry...
May have found the problem. I think it's a power steering issue. Nothin showing on stick so that may explain why I never saw a leak. Just got a jack and will get under it in the AM. Service manual states about 10 times "Do not use automatic tranny fluid!" Since dealer is closed tomorrow any...
Went out for about 15 minutes this afternoon and the car started to smell funny. Noticed smoke coming from under the hood. Was close to home and hurried back in to garage. There was a trail of drips and when I opened the hood some smoke was coming from underneath. I got under the car the best I...
Was the Wizard called? That's why he's the Wizard. If he can't find one then I concur that the best bet is to have one made from a hose shop that does high pressure hoses.
http://forums.viperclub.org/picture.php?albumid=76&pictureid=676Enjoy your "new" car. Got my "94 red is the fastest color" about this time last year with 15000 miles on it. Bought it sight unseen except for pics and had it delivered in a closed carrier. Have not had a single problem. Replaced...
I am leaving Culpeper in the morning at 7:00 AM headed to the Children's Hospital in Richmond for the Horsepower challenge. Should be on Rte 95 in Fredericksburg at about 7:45. Anybody interested or going that way around that time? We could meet up on 95 somewhere. With supposedly 50+ Vettes...
Very impressive...I thought I was pretty quick in less than 4. On the Gen 1there are slide locks for the cross arms and the bows have to be inserted in the rail but other than that I finally got it. I had mine on the family room floor which probably made it tougher to set the side bows.
Thanks...
Mine came from the factory with 2 missing. No leaks and very clean holes. I was very surprised no mechanic or service person ever noticed but that's beside the point. I took one out and went to the auto parts and matched them up. A couple of bucks and you can't tell the difference. :usa:
Slysnake...I could have very easily written your story. Exact same thing happened to me in both shows I entered. Most popular car there and people flocked to it. I let kids get in the drivers seat and have their pictures taken. End of both shows no recognition at all but I had fun knowing the...
Another question for the guys committed to detail and personalizing your Vipers. I am looking for either the chrome or brushed aluminum dash gauge bezel rings. There are 6 of them as most of you know. I called Viper Specialty to inquire about them for early Gen 1's since the ones they show only...
Was at the small airport in the county today test flying on a demo flight and noticed they had 100 octane low lead (100 ll) at 3.60 a gallon. I'm wondering what harm, if any, I would do to a stock 94 RT/10 if I mixed 50/50 or ran a full tank through it? :dunno:I also asked the guy if I could run...
I drive mine as much as I can. I love it and can't get enough. jdeft...don't forget to call me on a Thursday or Friday if you get out near Culpeper. I want you to see my shop and I still want to hear your catless exhaust before I do mine. I may go with the muffler replacement instead of complete...
I applaud you for having the "nads" to post that video. That wasn't even close but it doesn't sound like you wound it out to the max. Wouldn't have thought it would be that bad of a whuppin"! :buttkick:
"I want to win Qualitywires.com." :usa:
It's a shot in the dark but does anyone have any step by step pics from start to finish (or be willing to take some and post)on taking the soft top frame apart? (Gen 1) Owners manual is very vague. I am not afraid to say I am very wary of trying to attempt this alone. My top has never been...
Never heard of such a thing. I wash my 94 often. I blow it off, use microfiber towels to dry remaining spots and then take it out for a spin. The heat from the exhaust will evaporate any moisture. I think your "reliable source" may be on "unreliable drugs." Enjoy the ride man...there's nuttin'...
Great looking car! Congrats. I have had my RT/10 in 2 shows. Most popular car for lookers and having pictures taken but have walked away with nothing except the satisfaction "that car is mine!" 1994 RT/10 with 17000 miles. Better than showroom clean. It seems like Vipers are overlooked by the...
