I have a stock exhaust system that is basically new that came with the car. Seems like a shame to just store. Since mods are frequent, so should be the leftover parts.
Any luck selling them? And where?
Actually as a long term car guy, I look at any cool car. The new Mustang, Camaro, Challenger as well as the exotics. I was in South Beach over spring break. You need a chiropracter after looking at the cars there. :eater:
I am sure the more seasoned owner is used to it by now, but as a new owner I still find it fascinating the affect that the Viper has on surrounding drivers.
Last night was driving down a multi lane road and Vette was in the RH turn lane. I was 1 deep behind another car in LH straight lane...
Congrats Tom. I purchased the identical car in April 30. Here is my story if you care to see my posting.
Sounds like the same questions and thoughts are coming your way.
I still have the run flats on mine. I figure I would rather burn them off that just throw them away. I am not...
I went the Quickrete epoxy route and had choice between the standard stuff from and the commerical grade(more money of course. I did standard version. The real issue with these coatings is hot tire pickup. I followed the instruction for prep to the T which takes days to do. Like acid etch...
I did before I posted this. Seriously if you read and follow instructions, it is not difficult. I did the an area behind the front wheels. Made my own pattern to fit. Not a biggie.
Sorry your 2005 has not measured up. I never owned a Ford prior to working for them. I bought two used SVT Contours for my twin sons both and now both have over a 150K miles and still really solid cars. Now living inside the Ford, I have watched progressive emphasis on quality . Hope next time...
I think the Viper (and maybe other sports cars) brings out an emotional response in a lot of people. I have had drivers do crazy takes off or rev their engines to get your attention. I am never sure what they are thinking but I at least consider it acknowlegement that another car enthusiast is...
The trunk liner was not optional, just not yet introduced. It came in 2004 and can buy new for about $250.
I just bought an '03 with 4200 miles May 1. After a several month search, I have a pretty good feel for pricing vs mileage vs condition. If you want to discuss what my findings were...
As a Ford Product Engineer, I know the quality we put into this and other vehicles. If reliability and quality are important factor, GT has it. Not sure how the Gallardo shapes up...but the reputation is not good.
If you just take it slow and easy, you can do it without damaging door or glass. I did the joint similar to the Jon's but instead of a vinyl sleeve, I used a 3M Super Strength Molding tape. It acts like a sticky conformal coating and so far it made a rock solid joint.
Lessons learned. If...
First of all it is not 170..it is 170 x 3 badges = $510 And secondly there is no logic that if you own an expensive car that somehow one should not care about the value of a purchase.
To each his own.
Yes I have contemplated a design similar to what you showed inanother post. Thanks for the additional definition of materials. I could not tell what was used or if any adhesive or silicon was used. Has the design you did held up and how long has it been in service??
I did another design...
Jon I had to re read your posts to see that you mentioned how to remove the regulator. I clearly oversighted your help. Sorry. No offense intended. Oh well. I'll learn to read more carefully next time.
And by the way the fix that I showed in the earlier post essentially did not work...
