Red 97 Viper GTS, lowered, looks like low percent tint, maybe a belanger exhaust, and personal plates that say "ALL STOCK", HRE's, and the photo says Boost Almighty.
Brutha I would love to help with that extra cap, but with my other projects going on, I don't know that I could give you a solid time frame on turn-around.
Excellent & valuable info Russ. Thank you very much.
Edit: Can't find the VR1's or VR1R's on the Forgeline site. The ZX3R's do look good as well. I'll call them about the weight.
Leslie - Hmmm very aggressive offset for those VR1's. I'm definitely digging the profile. A 12lb reduction is very impressive. Would you say that was primarily from the rotors or wheels?
ODR - Good looking out on the pads. I am looking for those qualities in the pads. I guess I'll bring it up...
How much of a weight reduction does the ST BBK offer? The point of my endeavor is two fold - improving braking performance, and minimizing or even reducing overall weight (particularly unsprung weight).
Ted, don't know if you saw the wheels for my Z06, but I am thinking the design will be similar. They should end up being flush with the fenders edge. Here's a pic...

Front & Rear:
I'm planning on 19/20 monoblocks with concave centersections. The front is really of less consequence but I will still need to be able to tell the company what the backspacing/offset needs to be. I can't see going more than Tom's 40mm out back so it shouldn't be an issue. I want to get as much...
Ted - Great, informative posts. I was hoping you'd jump in. I am now leaning towards the Roe front kit, but will have to speak with them about how it will affect future wheel choices - namely, if there is a variation in backspace and if so, what will it be?
The F/R lightweight rotors are a must...
Good input gang. I am indeed looking for a street set-up since we don't really have a track in Honolulu any more. I'm hopeful we'll build another one, but I'm not going to hold my breath for it. Over the years of building cars, I have learned to build specific to my interest for the car or I'll...
Aloha all, been searching and perusing the various brake threads on the forums and have come to an initial idea on what I'd like to do with my brake upgrade. I was wondering if anyone could provide feedback on the combo.....
Tom's 40mm rear calipers
Roe 13" slotted lightweight rotors on all...
Viperless - I think anytime there is a compromise in the clear, wherein oxygen is allowed to permeate, you will get oxidation with the bare aluminum. The oxidation starts at a single point and grows like weeds under the rest of the clear. The heaviest oxidation was on the underside of the cap...
I think it's more of a sound insulator with high temp tolerance, rather than a high temp coating. I wonder how it compares to the other roll-on sound deadeners.
V10enomous - I agree. I think the MGW caps are a great offering, but the stock has the most attractive profile and heritage.
rudedawg - My fingertips argue otherwise, but I am satisfied with the outcome. Mahalo!
bigmack - The thought crossed my mind. The black would hike the inevitable...
Thanks. I sprayed a clear marine enamel, so I'm hoping to get a few yeas out of it at least. I kept the coats thin and did my best to get as much of a water tight seal as possible, but in the cracks and crevices, I doubt I got good coverage. We'll see. Worst case... this can buy me some time to...
Junk, watched the vids. Very informative and well presented. We share very similar technique. Aside from using only the folded edge of the towel, almost identical. Even wiping my cars down, I use minimal pressure on my clean MF towels. I will need to try the Waterless carwash. I have been using...
