This is my current plan also. Trading in the Black ACR for an Orange TA as I don't track nearly as often as I originally planned due to family obligations and work. Now I want a car that I can drive on the street (especially one without a big wing) but can still go to the track once or twice a...
Problem is when the next ACR is ready to go to the 'Ring in a year or two, Nissan will have the next iteration of GT-R out with an even faster 'Ring time. So don't target 7:08, target sub 7 minute laps.
So other than maybe canards and a big wing, what other performance stuff will the ACR have on top of the TA upgrades? Any guesses? Will the engine get a boost in power this time around?
That gives me the idea that somewhere out there I may be able to find a seat bracket to mount my Viper OEM seat in my Jeep Wrangler. I put in a fix back racing seat in the ACR so the OEM seat is just sitting in the garage gathering dust.
Why does everyone say the SRT has inferior tires? Doesn't that car have the Track Pack which comes with P Zero Corsa tires? The Corsa's are as track oriented as the PSC as I ran them before on my Porsche and they are real sticky and predictable and wouldn't be any slower than the PSC. But I...
Gev IV ACR for still being the King of the 'Ring
Ferrari Enzo with so much F1 technology transfers, especially that nose....
Ford GT for having such timeless lines and most beautiful (to my eyes at least) and can top 200 MPH at the mile (with standing start) w/ minor mods.
Porsche 959 for the...
Why did SRT go with Bilstein's Damptronic shocks on the GTS, instead of Dephi's magnetorheological shocks used extensively by Ferrari as I really like the Ferrari's shocks vs. the Damptronics on Porsches.
I love my Gen IV ACR so much (thanks to you guys' great work) that I don't think I'll be replacing it with another coupe anytime soon, however I wouldn't mind adding another car that's more street friendly. So I have narrowed my choice down to either a Nissan GT-R or Viper Vert with a twin...
50 members pledging $5000 each would bring $250,000 and might just get the car, then we just take turns enjoying the car. Lance you get the first weekend and me next.... Donation is tax deductible also, I would imagine.
The Kumho XS you're running are great autox tires, you probably won't be able to get much sticker than those w/o going to DOT slicks, but if you're running 275's up front, switching to 315/30-18 XS in the front (you may need wider wheels) along with more negative camber could be worth a second...
The article also says "...The GTS, aimed at winning over Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini (but not Ferrari) buyers, goes all out..." My fear is the Viper will be playing second fiddle to Ferrari cars from now on. Would Fiat allow one of their $100+/- cars be faster than say a 458 Italia costing...
But since I already have the Gen 4 ACR and still loving it so much, and I don't see owning both coupes at the same time, I'd rather wait for a Vert, maybe one with the flappy paddle gearbox so the wife can drive it. How long will I have to wait for that? Any rumored release dates?
I little off topic, I put in an Eclipse Nav unit but couldn't find the speed pulse wire, even though the unit still works w/o connecting to it but I think it'll work better with it. Does anyone know which wire is the speed pulse wire?
Looks like you still had a great time Mike, wish I was there. Hope you can get the sensor issue resolved soon. Dan C. replaced my cam sensor also but I have not driven the car hard ever so won't know if that fixes my limp mode issue. Wonder if your problems will go away if you were to go back...
