    What\'s the best RPM to shift at? What RPM do you shift at. Base this question on a stock internal motor with exhaust and roller rockers. I've heard 5,500 and also 6,000. Just curious what the optimum is for the best performance.

    What are the popular Maryland dragstrips, and where do all of you Viper guys race in Maryland? I usually race at Mason Dixon in Hagerstown, but I've never seen any other Vipers there. I'd love to hook up with a couple other Vipers sometime and go to the track. Colin 2002 GTS

    Looking for 3.55 ring and pinion!

    I have 3.55's and wish I had the stock gears back in it. I bought it with the 3.55's and now plan to switch back to stock. So a 98 is different than a 2002??

    Re: More practice The elevation is 600-650ft above sea level and the temp was in the 80's. This track does run to the west so if there was a breeze it would be against you. I still need more practice also! Colin

    Bolt in Roll Cage???

    What do people do for a roll cage when they get into the 11's and it's required to have one?? I love to drag race and always want to get quicker. I'm now at 11.3 and am required to have one, but don't want to chop up my car. Any ideas, tips, or advice would be great! Thanks, Colin

    I'm just going to run Drag Radials all of the time on my 18's. I bought the NITTO's also because they are supposed to be the best DR for street use. BFG's are more sticky, but will throw up more debris and they don't take the turns as well. Friday night I ran them for the 1st time and hit 1.6 60...

    Last night I raced for the 1st time on drag radials. What a difference! With more practice I know I can do better, but I ran 11.3@123mph. Awesome!! I ran a 1.6 second 60 foot time for all 3 runs.     I was told the Viper you're talking about will have a V-10 Hemi with 680hp. That's supposed to be in the plans, time will tell.

    What size drag radials do the guys running 17 inch wheels run? I'm currently looking at a set of 17 inch back wheels just for drag racing only, but the guy at the tire rack said they only have a 315 BFG. Any ideas or advice? Colin

    Great runs! What tires were you running. I have similar power and can only get to low 12's on stock tires. I ran tonight and spun badly in 1st, 2nd, and 1/2 of third. I need some practice, but will need drag radials I think to hit the numbers you've put down. Again, great runs! Colin

    Tires....

    Old tires definitely dry out and get hard. On my old 2000GTS I had stock tires that had plenty of tread. I couldn't hook for anything. Once I put new tires of the same kind on it I couldn't believe the difference. Definitely worth every penny to replace them! Colin
