I recommend that you invest in a 2008 Viper factory service manual (the hardcopy). It has the complete electrical diagram for the car. It will be invaluable if electrical gremlins continue to crop up. Tell them you are a VCA member and you will receive a discount...
There seems to be many different descriptions of the drive by wire throttle response. Besides Jeff's comments above, I have also heard of a surge at around 4000 rpms, too fast of a throttle response, too slow of a throttle response and my own experience. That's a pretty wide spectrum.
My...
Well, here's my .02. Based on your story, I would return to stock. The reason being, the guys that are supporting you and/or selling you car alarm stuff do not understand the Viper's electrical system in my opinion. You risk more damage having guys not understanding what they are doing, work...
I forgot to mention that the symptom is temperture related just as you experienced. Once the car cools down the clutch will seem fine. Don't be fooled, it wont fix itself.
Bleed it cold.
I had the exact same problem on the first drive with my 08. The solution is to bleed the clutch. This is very easy on the 08 since there is a bleeder valve built into the transmission case. I did mine myself. It took two separate bleed sessions for mine to get the air out and now it is...
BTW: For anyone interested in doing the Polk door speaker upgrade, the DB650's are discontinued. The new design (with the correct mounting holes for the Viper) is the Polk DB651S. Don't for get the "S" at the end or you will be unhappy.
I am a first time Viper owner (2008 Roadster). I read much about the improvements to the 08 car which caused me to part with my C5 Z06. One of the improvements was the rear diff. Visco-loc (sp?) is the term I believe. I have read that a lot of Viper owners are switching to an aftermarket...

The 2008's have a clutch slave cylinder bleed screw. It's part of the bellhousing of the transmission just above the master cylinder line connection on the left side of the tranny. It's accessable from under the car without removing anything and you only need an 11mm box end wrench. The...
Bled system (with the wifes help as clutch pedal jockey). Drove over 100 miles yesterday without an issue. This is a very straightforward process on the 08 with the built in bleeder valve. I hope this thread will be helpful to my fellow VCA members. Now I have to upload some more pics!
Wow, it's great to have the support of the VCA members and Woodhouse. I spoke with Viper Tech Mark J. today and he told me that the clutch master/slave cylinders may just need to be bled. If his theory is correct, we suspected that the clutch would probably be fine once the car has cooled down...
Hi Everyone,
I just took delivery of my 08 SSG vert from Woodhouse today. I must say that Bill P. really makes the whole process a breeze. I am new to Vipers (former Z06 owner) and I got some good advice from some other Viper owners, on who to deal with and the process. Thanks to all who...
