Intro and Parking Brake Assembly
ON MY GEN 1 SOMETIMES THE parking brake would go up all the way with no resistance. When I put it back down and gave it a couple of short pulls the racket catches and it works fine. Don't hang it. Try some short pulls first and it might adjust itself.- DJ'sviper

Viper Red Paint
That's probably the best way to go. I had the back of the car painted and the top. and they had to huge with paint to get it to match. I think you are right in that the viper red changed over the years.- DJ'sviper

Battery Dies - Old LoJack System?
The battery will always be dead in 3 to 4 days. I leave a trickle charger on at all times. If I go someplace I have portable battery charger that I slip under the hood and it charges the battery overnight. If I stay in a hotel I charge up the battery charger while I'm gone. Sourcing Obsolete Parts For Gen I and Gen II Vipers

I have them too. Mine are loud but bearable. I put extra sound deadening under the rug. This helped in the heat as well as quieting it down in the inside.- DJ'sviper
