I have a 1999 gts. Paxton is getting installed but I want to start thinking about what to do if I up the boost or want a more robust fuel system but don't want to break the bank.
Guys,
At what point do the factory fuel lines and integrated fuel rail run out of flow? I am wondering if I can just get upgraded drop in injectors and dual in tank fuel pumps to support max 750 rwhp. Will the factory fuel lines and fuel rail support the need flow?
just a quick update. the paxton is getting installed this week hopefully done for middle of next week. i went with the billet power steering pulley, putting in a walbro 255, and pinning the crank pulley. sticking with the stock harmonic damper until I decide to up the boost.
speaking of...
For those of you that have aftermarket gauges, what brand door you go with to match the stock look? What gauges do you put in? I am thinking boost and fuel pressure since I am putting in a paxton. Or would wide band be better? Or all there? Any other suggestions?
Looking to get the paxton put in soon and was wondering what other "might as well" stuff I should do. I am thinking upgraded harmonic dampener, front main seal, power steering pulley, engine and transmission mounts, pin the dampener, boost gauge and wide band.. Any other suggestions? Will be...
I also picked up a sct. Would I use the sct and not use the piggy back at all? I want to do self install but an really busy the next few months so i am tempted to bring it to a shop so I can enjoy sooner!
What is the approximate cost difference between stryker and greg good heads? You prefer the na because of smoother power delivery or something else? I am close to pulling the trigger on a used paxton but may consider just getting some heads.
phew...i thought something might have been wrong with my car or my driving. infineon does have what seems to be an uphill section at the last part of the quarter mile. i wish there was another drag strip closer to the south bay
wow..this whole density altitude thing is new to me. found a density altitude calculator and looks like on my run, the DA was +1555. this was done at sears point raceway aka infineon. hopefully with the tips from you guys on this thread, I can get closer to the 12.0 mark with my exhaust on...
So looks like 500 rwhp will get me my 11.5 or better. Basically 100 rwhp will shave off a second. So now, what is the most cost effective way excluding nos? Dont really need more than 500. Or to go faster than 11.5
What is the most effective way to hit ny goal of either 11.5 in the quarter, 130 trap speed or 500 rwhp on street tires?
My 99 gts dyno'd about 420 rwhp with smooth tubes, k and n, and high flow cat with exhaust.
In the quarter, I was only able to pull off a 12.45 @ 116 hitting a 1.98...
wondering if it is a must to run a paxton supercharger kit with aftermarket headers. i have a 99 gts and recently put on an exhaust with high flow cats and it is probably louder than i would want my car to be. so that brings me to my question. would i be foolish to install a supercharger kit...
