The fact that any ******* walking through a parking lot can open your hood... Sure, if your car is locked and then the hood is opened an alarm goes off... But seriously, how is that OK? Dodge dropped the ball on this one.. Big Time. That's really my only real gripe about the car... I'd still buy...
I'd be worried bout putting these on without CATS!!! It's gonna throw a code and go into limp mode big time after a little bit of driving without the cats....
Let me be crystal clear here - you are asking for trouble if you don't purge before a pass!
I am not advocating that you need to buy a purge kit! (in fact, I discourage that) However, I am explaining that you need to do 1 or 2 quick hits into the motor (no load/in neutral) above 3K RPM or you...
No, just assume that the OEM timing is safe..... <smackshead> (You must not have sprayed too many cars over the years...) Bad BAD advice.
Assuming the OEM timing is very aggressive and start out with a very small shot. Monitor your A:F and monitor for knock retard!!!!!
I simply can't...
Rolly,
This is a great kit for the Viper:

I've installed numerous NX kits and am a big fan of their products!
Make sure you know what you're doing when 1) installing and, 2) using...
I always wondered what happened to Carlton from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air!!!
All joking aside, great video and the driver definitely had some fun in a fabulous automobile!!! Kudos to him!
Going fast is fun.. No matter the technology (or lack thereof) to get you there... However, Mr. Porsche was too busy bragging here to answer a simple PM when I was trying to find a local Viper dealer (we live in the same area and he had just boasted that he knew where plenty were for a fair...
Guys,
Yes, I visited the alley.... The reason I made that comment [over on the corvette forum] is because most viper owners I have met have been complete jackasses to me... I understand that ALL owners are not necessarily jackasses, but generally speaking, most of them (that I have both met...
^^agreed. There has to be a better way? At least on the C6's you could pull a lever in the trunk that would pop the driver's door open... I'm sure the Gen V has something comparable - we just have to find it!
Vsmith,
Yep, it's so nice I'm willing to overlook it. However, I do catch myself stretching out (think: bed) and putting my feet against the firewall (with it on cruise control) while on the highway... I know... I know.. Not the smartest thing to do but it sure does make the ride more...
The blower on the new Z06 will seriously limit modability (unless you want to replace the entire unit). Car also already has headers... They have wrung most of the power out of the new Z06... Not a lot of room for aftermarket there... I'm disappointed [and I am a Die Hard Corvette enthusiast].
Camfab,
Let's agree to disagree... The car doesn't require a redesign. If you have worked with turbocharging big displacement engines (with forged internals), then you would know that squeezing another 60% out of the engine (in most cases), isn't a huge deal. I'm not interested in a power-adder...
