Enjoy your new Viper. It can be a life altering experience.
Rule #1 for new Viper owners. Be sure your steering wheel is straight, the road ahead is clear, and you are totally focused before you put the throttle fully down for the first times. The torque takes a bit to get used to.
Once you...
Rims are too important to be repaired in many cases.
Would request the moving company to replace them with new.
Not many wheel repair shops would warranty them on a 200 mile per hour track exotic.
Might put them in contact with Jon at Parts Rack for a good price on exact factory replacements.
The Blue/White 96 GTS you purchased is a classic design. The stock wheels look perfect on it. You want to keep those, no matter which aftermarket wheels you might add.
Just slap on some fresh rubber and enjoy your ride, at least until you burn those off in time.
If you want some more bling...
Jon Reep was on stage at the VOI a few years ago. Had everybody in stitches. Told how he got selected to do the advertising "Hey...that thing got a HEMI!" line, which became an instant CLASSIC!
He hung around after the show and drank beers with everybody in the lobby. He loves to tell stories...
The vents grills are not solid, but allow hot engine air and pressure buildup to escape from the engine compartment. Rain and car wash water will still get in.
Re: Well I wrecked my 06 coupe, so far they say it is repairable and I am pricing par
Might want to make a call to Jon B at Parts Rack. He has been super helpful in sourcing reasonably priced parts and helping with insurance claims.
Head gaskets are first suspect. If you still have your original gaskets, they can be replaced by much better ones.

Next would be to check heater core.
Glad to check those things out for you.
My first Viper (have had 3) was a 96 B/W GTS. Fell in love with it when I first saw it at a autoshow. It was up on a turn table with a huge crowd gathered around, taking pictures.
It was the Shelby Cobra that I had always wanted, but with air...
Two choices. I know an auto broker that does transfers for many of our local club members. He can help with inspection and send you pictures as well as handling all the paperwork, shipping and could even handle the transfer of funds, kind of an escrow thing so both buyer and seller can be...
I believe that Viper has been hesitant to offer a factory supercharger because the Viper has always been developed as more of a road racing car than drag racer.
Drag racing is only for a few seconds, and supercharging would work tremendously well in that application. For endurance road racing...
As the temperature gets lower, those struts become weaker. Need to be replaced every 10 years or so. Get from dealer, or cheaper from local parts store.
Imagine provenance will be much more important than rarity. Color is not as important than one that has some history, such as setting track records, being owned by a famous person or winning inportant races. Most of the engines and transmissions are pretty much all the same from the factory, but...
No worries on burning off a little low octane fuel. Most cars are designed to reduce ignition advance if they detect lower than optimum fuel.
Best thing you can do is go to another gas station and top it off with the highest octane available.
Vipers are sturdy beasts : >)
I'm giving one to WANTED because he also needs some Christmas Spirit. Only original red one needed to be a member. (feel like a politician here: >)
Even Santa has a Naughty and Nice list...
Thenk everybody for the quick responses.
Viper Jeff gets the red one
broomrider gets a black one
WANTED will be getting a black one, as soon as he sends his mailing address.
All will be shipped out Monday, when I get into my office.
Until then...everybody have a Very Merry Christmas.
To help...
Viper Jeff was the first to reply to my PM, however he failed to follow the rules and did not post Dibs in this post.
However in the Spirit of Christmas, and I did say "no strings" I will send him my only red one.
broom rider also did not follow the rules and while She posted here, and called...
In the Spirit of Christmas, I will send as a gift a brand new, still in the box Maisto Model 1:18 scale 2013 SRT Viper GTS in brilliant Christmas Red to the first person requesting it.
No strings, just a little giving back this Christmas to the members who have given so much to me.
Paul...
Maybe the answer is to use Dot 4 for track use, but you need to change it more often.
Use Dot 3 for street use, or if you change the fluid less often than every 2 years.
