FrgMst, hitting 190mph on 625whp is doable. My first outing on my heads/cam GenIII, I only had 616whp, and hit 191.5; on stock 5th gear (same as your 0809) Remember that you want to be at max horsepower of last selected gear at the end of the run. I have compiled some gears/mph for you to do...
Are you guys catching any oil with these exotic valve cover breathers? I have these along with a ACR-X oil seperator catch can. After about 2-3k miles, I only have about 1 tablespoon worth of oil!! And yes, I made sure that petcock was closed. I can see a small haze of blowby at idle, but it...
Tony, thanks for sharing your experience with us. We are all aware that pushing the limits on these cars quickly depletes engineering margins set forth by their designers. Do keep us posted on your progress.
Do you have pictures your pump failure? Was it a similar failure mode as Tony's?
Spartan, I am using the complete stock Gen III gearing. I believe its perfect for the power I am making. My gearing setup has worked well in standing mile and half mile events. Some folks complain that 5th gear is too long, but I was still able to hit 195mph in the stand mile. Its not optimal...
Great runs Tim and thanks for representing for the Viper community. I agree that there aren't too many threads on Standing Mile events for Vipers. I have attended the Texas Mile over the last three years, each year with more mods on my Gen III convertible. I have made a post for each one of...
No. You don't need to remove the front fender. There are a couple of 10mm nuts fastenting those two that need to be loosened. See the Corsa installation guide for more info.

To the OP, those are great runs. The lower '60 foot will come by with better throttle/clutch modulations. For me, I was doing 5,000 rpm clutch slips in order to get low 1.7 60' ft. Its tougher on our 3.07s, but its doable at the expense of a smoking clutch :drive:
Your statement is true...
This thread may answer a lot of the gearing questions:

What drag radials are you using that are 28.7" tall? I wanted a taller rear tire, and the 345/35-18, 28" M/T Drag radials I bought are only about 27.5" tall when mounted.
There has been a comparo between the Gen V GTS and SLS AMG GT. Perhaps a slightly more positive review.

I am not sure how tire manufacturers measure their tires. My Micky Thompson 345/35-18 are also about 3/4" shorter than advertised (27.3" vs 28"). :dunno:
Sure, the O2 sensors still target 14.7, but it doesn't mean you are running stoichiometric. An air fuel ratio at 14.7:1 is the stoichiometric ratio for pump gas only. Period. The stoichiometric ratio for VP109 is 13.4. So guess what, you computer is still targeting 14.7:1 despite that fact...
No offense, but your comment is inaccurate and offers horrible advise with potentially high dollar repercussions!!!
High octange fuels have different stoichiometric ratios and will absolutely change your a/f ratio!!!!!
I am not going to get deep into the chemistry in this post, but...
Thanks Tony for the awesome chronicle and pictures of your Gen V. Sounds like an amazing trip. Keep on posting about this very awesome adventure as I am certain that a few of us are living vicariously through you.
The video didnt say it, I did and it is entirely my opinion based on the following facts: 1) watch the video in HD and you will see no cats. 2) the unspent raw fuel coming out of the exhaust manifested as a flame is proof of a no cat exhaust
All I personally is see is that the OEM exhaust is pretty top notch if its producing results similar to an aftermarket long tube design with no cats and a resonator.
This particular Gen 4 went this fast that day, with that driver, on that track. Density altitude, track prep, and driver skill will play a huge roll in E.T. Most 1/4 mile records are held at tracks with density altitude that goes well into the negatives. This same run at -1000 ft DA (my...
Nineball....so let me get this straight, you are driving the car from Michigan to Texas right now, and you mentioned on another thread that you were doing the power tour from TX to NC?? You will have probably have more Gen V miles under your belt in the next two weeks than anyone else. We all...
Factors such as exhaust sound, tires, and suspension play a role in over all comfort. I have driven mine close to 500 miles in one sitting, and over 1000 miles on a weekend. I was fine and no where remotely close to sore. The only time I have been sore was after a weekend HPDE. My neck was...
Those really are great looking headers Toddy. Throw some Gen III flanges on those bad boyyz and I will gladly be your guinea pig on my +650whp all motor Gen III. :headbang:
