    Is my Viper slow???

The hard part is that we often read about people who are running great times with a LOT of time dragracing the Viper, on a well prepped track. My first time at the dragstrip (with the Viper) was equally disappointing, spinning badly in 1st, hitting the rev limiter in second and missing 3rd...

532rwhp/558rwtq - Who's run a similar Gen II at the strip?

Re: 532rwhp/558rwtq - Who\'s run a similar Gen II at the strip? It really depends on tires (drag radials?) track prep, and experience. I have similar power, but I'm running street tires and short shifting to prevent spinning. My best time so far is 11.8@127MPH. Obviously the MPH shows that I...

    Finally Finished, my S/C Mamba!!!!!

All of your mods look very good together! Are those 19" CCWs all around or did you do 20s in the rear? How did you lower the car? Motons? And have you dynoed the SC engine yet?

TO NOS OR NOT TO NOS

Yep, it's a common misconception that nitrous hurts an engine. I had a NX system on my previous Corvette, but when I went to sell the car I had people ask me how many times that I had used the nitrous, as if the number of times used had some accumulative negative effect on the car. :rolleyes...

How to drive a SRT with a PAXTON?

Unless you have practiced a lot of heel/toe downshifting (driving school) don't try downshifting at speed. A supercharged Viper can get up to 100MPH+ before you know it, and downshifting at higher speeds without heel/toe work can easily unsettle the rear end and cause the car to lose control...

MIGHT INSTALL NX KIT ON MY SRT10 DO I NEED TO RETARD TIMING..

It's a good safety tip to run 1-2 heat ranges colder spark plugs with a 150 shot. You don't need to retard timing, but I chose to run a window switch instead on manual nitrous activation for safety. And make sure to do dyno tuning to dial in a safe A/F ratio (and to optimize the power). It's...

    3:55 gears

It's a definite improvement that you can easily feel in the car. The stock 3.07 gears make both 5th and 6th overdrive gears, only really useful for getting better gas mileage on the freeway. For me, the slight hit in gas mileage and having to shift more in town were easy trades for the feeling...

    Testarossa and Viper comparisons?

I've driven my Viper to work for years (but it's not a long commute), and drive most every day that there is good weather (about 10 months a year here). But I'll readily admit that this is an exception rather than the rule with Vipers. There are many places where I won't ever leave the...

    Cool video

Clarkson regularly changes his mind, no matter how fervent that he was either for or against any car. Here is a recent quote of his... "I try on opinions like I try on clothes, standing in front of a mirror and wondering if they suit me. Sometimes, I take them home and realise I made a bad...

    Ran at Sacramento last night.

Good Going! That's an excellent time for Sacto on street tires. :2tu: I'm hoping to get out to Sacramento a bit later in the year!

Nitto Drag Radials - Streetable? In the Rain?

Do they make Nitto performance tires in a 335/18 size for cars?

Viper SRT V.S Morgan Aero 8

That's a pretty odd pair-up, as you probably couldn't pick a car that is more different than the Viper and Morgan Aero 8. I liked the classic Morgans, but the Aero 8's cross-eyed headlights completely ruin the car for me. :(

INTRAX or Partsrack Caps which would be better to lower SRT.

I installed Northwind coil caps, which I believe are the same units that Partsrack is selling. I chose the coil caps over the Eibach lowering springs because the Eibachs lowered the car too much to be a daily driver with driveways and speed bumps. Plus the coil caps got rid of the huge wheel...

ACR BBS wheels now $3,000 - yikes

They were $2800 each from the dealer when the ACR was being sold, so $3000 is about right. But if pushed, you can get a set of 4 BBS LM wheels for about $3650. Or find one used on Ebay.;)

Bat's Blue Vinyl Stripes on Black(PICS)!

wierd place for a parked viper, but great looking viper!

Yeah, some of the fast food places have raised up their drive-through windows up to match the huge population of SUVs and trucks. And with the hard top on I do have to reach up to grab the food (my Viper is lowered). But the hard top is only on for about 2 months during winter (it was off...

Blue or Red Brake Calipers on my Black GTS, and a few other questions...

I think that the Viper blue stripes on black will be very original looking and possibly really cool. The only blue powdercoating that I've seen on brake calipers is a lighter blue. I think that it would be fine on a blue Viper, but not with black. I'd go with either black or red for the calipers.

GOT BUYER FOR MY DIABLO..07 SRT COUPE HERE I COME!

I believe that the Firepower is not exactly a replacement for the Crossfire (which was simply a rebodied Mercedes SLK). I think that it is a targeted as a performance/luxury car that is more upmarket, to run against the Jaguar XK, 911, and similar 2+2 higher-end cars, but at 2/3rds the cost...

wierd place for a parked viper, but great looking viper!

I drive my Viper almost everywhere, from 7/11s, fast food drive thrus, Safeway, commuting, travel trips. So it's not uncommon to get stares and comments from people who don't think that the Viper can ever be used as a regular car. Now I won't leave the Viper unattended for an extended period of...

    Front license plate law

I suppose that the laws might have changed, but when I was ticketed in the past (not in the Viper) with no front plates, it was just a fix-it ticket. Both times, I just wired up a front plate, drove to the police station and had the ticket signed off. And in 8 years of having no...

    BMW Z8 ??

I think that the Z8 is a beautiful classic design. Even though the upcoming Z4 M-Roadster will offer similar performance, the Z8 is relatively exotic and coveted. The Z8 shares the BMW M5's 400HP V8 engine, so it was as quick (and as rare) as the Ferrari 360 of the day. :cool...

Answer to the blue devil (ZO6) A lighter, faster viper

They are clearly showcasing the carbon fiber panels in the design. But I agree that the black on white looks patchy at best. I hope that this is a real preview of ASC carbon fiber panels on an upcoming ACR Viper. I don't care if the lightweight panels are "only" shaving off 85 lbs. As...

    WHICH TO BUY? 2000 RT10 OR 2001?

I have a 2000 R/T10, and if all things were equal I'd take the 2001 for the ABS. But with the mileage difference I'd take the 2000 model. :2tu: But I'd also figure in the color of each car into the decision. As well as how well maintained each car is.

    Dolphin Viper's long lost cousin!

Re: Dolphin Viper\'s long lost cousin! Hey now guys, give him a break. Nobody complains when you see an illustration of Little Caesar's Pizza on the side of a pickup do ya? This is the same thing, except that it just costs $150,000 for him to paint purple dolphins onto a $250,000 exotic car...
