    2004 SRT-10 Dyno Report

Good numbers.:D I look forward to seeing you pick up that extra 30RWHP.

    Vette engineer on the Viper

Having the performance of a $300K Lamborghini Murcielago in comparative testing does raise the status of the Viper and the Z06. :2tu: Still, the Italian performance cars always carry their exotic history on a red flag held high. As high as their price. Which attracts the rich because it...

Woodhouse Pics Blue SRT-10 AND Commemorative Edition!

Very nice! But I'd be tempted to add silver stripes. ;) ...And a Paxton blower.

Rumor of Viper Blue Convertibles being built --- it's TRUE !!

Re: Rumor of Viper Blue Convertibles being built --- it\'s TRUE !! If I was getting a new SRT-10 Viper, this would be the color that I'd choose.

    Published Coupe 1/4 miles? MT run 11.5@127mph w/ the C6 Z06.

Those quoted times were likely from R&T which was indeed tested on a crappy surface AND a 2400RPM launch (bad combination). The better Motor Trend times were 0-100MPH in 8.36 and 11.77 @124MPH for the SRT-10 Viper, and 7.4 to 100MPH and 11.2 @131MPH for the Ford GT. :cool...

    new coupe "ACR" model?

Re: new coupe There is a new ACR SRT-4, I doubt that DC will pass up the chance to leverege the American Club Racer name. My only worry is that they will NOT offer the big bump in power, and they just do some mild tuning and cosmetic tweaks and have it become just another collector's edition...

    Are CA Vipers different?

I think that it's like the Corvettes. My previous Corvette was identical to the other 50-state cars mechanically, but there was a special California smog certification fee and label that I had to pay for when I brought it into California. :(

    Raced a GTO!

I'm not sure where you got that information, but the GTO weighs 3750 with the manual tranny, and 3825 with the auto. It's 400HP LS2 is just what the car needed to back up it's GTO name. I'm actually happy that GM and Chrysler have come out with powerful V8, RWD, sedan/coupes like the GTO...

    !!! 215 MPH !!!

Re: 206 mph !! Remember that the UK Viper GTS (sold as a Chrysler there) was hobbled for Europe, and it's engine only produced 406HP there. :( The SRT-10 Viper has been magazine tested to 187MPH, but it was limited by the test track, and was still pulling. The SRT-10 Viper's top speed...

    Fastest cars

Re: Fastest cars With all of the Europe-only cars listed, and the exclusion of many other fast cars, I'd say that it's most likely a British publication. :( It's very telling that the best that they could do 0-100MPH in was 9.6 seconds with the SRT-10 Viper :o when the GTS has done...

Anyone else think the new Firepower will overthrow the Viper SRT?

Re: Anyone else think the new Firepower will overthrow the Viper SRT? That 1999 Charger concept was indeed beautiful! Unfortunately, like the Prowler, it was one of the casualties of the Daimler Chrysler takeover/alliance. I see the Firepower as shooting to compete with the high...

    question on NOS

Sounds like a much more practical design than the bottle opener that NX Express makes. I still like having a bottle opener, but it is a pain to swap the bottle.

    viper, ZO6, ford GT, F430........

Sorry, but I can't seriously compare cars without regard for price. Except for the extremely rich, few people are going to be comparing $65K-$85K cars with $150K-$250K cars. I'm not really a fan of the 430's styling, and I want a car that I would be happy driving every day. And yet not wanting...

Has the SRT been to the 'Ring?

Re: Has the SRT been to the \'Ring? Yes, it was on a wet track with a German driver clearly unfamiliar with driving the SRT-10. It says a LOT that he got a miserable 8:13 when the Europe-hobbled GTS Viper tested previously (with about 400HP) managed 8:10. Also by someone unfamiliar with the...

    question on NOS

I'm not following your comments 2) a, b, and c. From your pictures it looks like you have a NOS brand bottle opener, which appears to be similar to the NX Express opener that I have, but different overall. With my bottle opener is is indeed a pain to remove the bottle for refilling. You need to...

    question on NOS

I really prefer having both the RPM switch and remote bottle opener. Along with a fuel pressure switch and WOT switch, I consider the RPM switch to be a valuable safeguard as it reduces the chances of having an intake explosion at low RPM, and reduces the chances of the mixture going lean if you...

    Lowering SRT front by 1/2"

Re: Lowering SRT front by 1/2 I'm not sure if this is what Parts Rack is selling, but Northwind Engineering makes low profile coil caps which replace the stock, taller coil spring caps, dropping the Viper's height by about 5/8". This reduces the noticable wheel well gap visibly, but without...

    Copperhead Console Upgrades

It really looks great. So much so that you have to wonder why they don't come that way from the factory. It really spices up the interior, and compliments the Copperhead's custom car look. :2tu:

I thought the dolphins were bad

Plus the big advantage of this is you can drive the car around (in good weather) with the top off, and then it's just a normal red Viper. And just hang the hardtop on the wall of your garage if you want to look at the artwork.

That was very entertaining to watch! Thanks. I especially liked having both the external shots and the in-car track view as you mixed it up with the other cars.

Very good times with the stock tires Ben. I wish that I had been there to run against you, it would have been a fun effort to keep you on your toes.

    Random Tech high-flow install results

I found a more dramatic improvement with the Roe oval high flow cats than you two did. I also have the Corsa cat back, and the new cats definitely cut the interior cockpit temps for me. Factory stock, my side sills were blazing hot, and partially melted some of the rubber trim when my side...

    Traction Control Installed

Traction control is inevitable , especially as the power of performance cars continue to rise past the ability of street tires to put the power down, especially in poor weather conditions. Name the other 400HP+ cars in production (sold in America)that don't have traction control. How many...

KICKED OUT OF CECIL CO. DRAGWAY TONIGHT - TO FAST, BUNCH OF BS I THINK

That's actually correct from the old rules. Any convertible car needs a rollbar (and of course a helmet) if running under 14 seconds. It's just that most tracks realize that even though DC openly states that the sport cap on a R/T10 is "not a roll bar", it really is. And so they will usually...
