Finding a theft RT

quote:
I noticed this morning though that I have yet to see one theft recovery. Any ideas as to why?

That's because Vipers don't get stolen! I believe last year one Viper was stolen in the entire country, someone...

    2 stage NOS

I've got the standard nitrous/propane kit and it works just fine. It would be easy to upgrade to a 2-stage from the standard 1 stage kit. I would suggest getting the one stage then decide if you wanted to go 2-stages after using it for a while.

quote:
MES, cost is not the issue. I'm looking for a header that will last a lifetime. Stainless is supposed to last, but then heat is a concern. In your case when your coating came off in a small area, what did you do to prevent...

Calling all B&B Header Owners, or anyone who wants to help.

Aren't B&B and Belanger the same design (someone copied someone) anyway I have the Belanger for a year now and 15,000 miles everything is fine except I spilt some oil on them which caused the coating to peel off in a small area. If you concerned with cost why not go with Edelbrock? the...

    2001 GTS Overheating

There were some problems with 2001 water pumps using plastic impellers. The pump would turn but the impeller inside the pump would slip on the shaft and free spin. There were several here (do a search) with that problem, worth checking out. The cars do run hot and the stock cooling system is not...

    Raced a Gen 2 RT10 w/ NOS ZR-1

I thought we can't post kills here? Anyway ET's don't mean crap on a rolling street race like you ran, the ET is all at the starting line. A .5 difference in the 1/8 may be 5 cars at the end of the 1/4 but it don't work the same from a rolling race such as you had. I run 92-93 MPH in the 1/8...

    Driveline loss %

There was a thread some time ago regarding this subject and I think it was 13% this was done by pulling the engine out of the car to dyno it, then dynoed again with it in the car. Considering most stock Vipers dyno right around 400 to the wheels the loss of 50 HP would give a drive line loss of...

    Important Question Please Read

This may sound stupid but... re-tighten the fuel cap and/or replace it. Also you know it should have a twist on fuel cap under that silver flap thing (don't know what it's called) Your new to Vipers so you may not know these things. Oh, and no it's not normal to smell fuel.

StopTech, rim sizes & drag radials

I'm thinking of getting some new rims and brakes so I wanted to see if anyone else has tried the following: 97 GTS with stock 17" rims 1. If I get 18" HRE 547 rims and Stoptech rotors/caliper/pads all 4 wheels, will they fit? Same size rims as the newer stock 18" cars. I think yes they should...

    Dry Nitrous Sys.- any good??

NOS Viper kit here The #40 jets that come with it provide a nice kick in the pants. This kit is not suited for the GTS or Gen II RT/10's because it doesn't enrich the fuel enough. You can buy other kits from NX or BTR that have additional fuel enrichment and support higher HP levels. "Dry"...

    RACED A DIABLO VT

Actually I think it's the other way around. A Diablo VT should spank a stock Viper. Could be close but the 6.0 V-12 should walk you pretty good.
quote:
Because the L147 project (successor to Diablo) was being re-evaluated by new owner...

    Limited slip - positraction

Some of you "old timers" can correct me but I believe that positraction has both the left and right axle physically tied together so they both turn at the same rate. This is not suitable for street use, only for the drag strip. Limited slip works just about like positraction in that both wheels...

quote:
give me Both full throttle (left AND right) and smooth performance. more horse power

Get some air filters and smooth tubes about $150 for both, adds 10HP I have S&B filter from Roe Racing. Also high flow cats $250-$350 can free up 5-10HP and make it cooler inside. That's about all the "cheap" stuff you can do, unless you want to add some nitrous.

Fell short of new Viper today

This is why you should never buy a car without first looking at it. South Florida has a lot of those type of dealers, anyone looking for a car from down here better be careful. TTBADBOY check out Motorcars of South Florida it's where I bought mine. All their cars were perfect condition but...

    DIY Superchargers

Back on topic. Yes I do believe that almost EVERY tuner overcharge for EVERYTHING not just blowers, when it relates to a Viper. Economics 101 - charge what the market will bear and don't leave money on the table. Most of these tuners don't have the deep pockets like a manufacture such as...

Your thoughts on tire pressure and holding the road...

What kind of tires are they? I had MMX3 and they were really bad now I have pilot sports and they are much better. Make sure front and back are the exact same type. Also I've noticed just 2-3 lbs difference between the two rear tires will cause the car to pull hard to one side (usually right)...

2003 Viper High-Performance Advanced Traction Technologies...

How can a differential improve the performance of the car by 6.5 sec that sound like BS to me. I don't road race so I don't know these things, but it seems that it would only effect the power delivery to the wheels and not the handling. More even power to the wheels would help from breaking the...
