    Just an observation

    There is a TSB for a rattle in the dash and they have to reroute the heater ducts in the dash to remove it. Maybe that is what you are hearing. I had to have it done to my car. Leonard

    They recently passed a law here using 95db as the limit for noise. It was to stop this kind of arbitrary citing for loud exhaust. If he didn't have something to measure it with you should be able to get off at least on that part.

    Need a computer for 96 GTS

    You might check the IAC motor on the side of the right throttle body. I had the same problem and it turned out this was bad. They also get dirty and can have the same effect. Try cleaning it first before the computer.
