Exactly. The driver would just keep the pedal to the floor and the EMS would reduce power somewhat until the wheel speed fell back in line with potential acceleration, then it would restore full power.
The AEM traction control is based on wheel speed. It must be programmed based on a set rate of acceleration, and then if it senses more than that (which would be wheelspin) it will reduce fuel or timing, or both, depending on how you program it. So like most other aspects of the AEM there is...
I haven't seen the article, but if they did it the same way as the previous SC the times are all well off what the cars will do at a regular track. Part of it has to do with the timing equipment they use, which is satellite based as I recall and not like the electronic equipment used at a...
Could be a number of things. Try resetting the system first using the key switch in the console. If that doesn't doesn't work, check your hood switch and see if it's closing correctly.
Bindy, the main thing you would need is forged pistons and the labor to install them. It would also be a good idea to upgrade the lifters while you're in there as they aren't very expensive (~$250). But then you have to ask yourself if it's worth it to spend a considerable amount of money and...
GTSnake, it replaces the stock PCM and you would not use it with the VEC2 (which is designed to work with the stock PCM). The AEM can control everything and would work well with the Roe blower, but I'm not aware of anyone who's tried it. I guess since the VEC2 comes with the system there is...
I agree that there was almost certainly an error in the calculation, but I'm still glad I'm not that guy's lawyer--somehow I don't think a cross-examination of "Isn't it true you could be off by x amount and my client might have only been going 175 mph?" would accomplish a whole lot! And you...
Steve, I'm assuming Ted put new knuckles on as part of the swap, right? I had spoken with him about this last fall when he was working on a swap kit, but I thought it was an SRT setup--is there any difference between the brakes on the SRT and the ones on the Comp Coupe (other than pads)?
You would need something capable of altering the fundamental engine parameters (fuel, timing, etc.) in a way that is not achievable via a reflash (not to mention needing something that is more easily tunable--the only way to alter or retune a reflashed PCM is to send it off and have it reflashed...
Sean, any idea what accounts for the extra 30-40 hp on this setup compared to most of the other heads/cam cars with the same pulley? (Assuming race gas and more timing isn't the simple answer)
Great numbers. But you gotta post the dyno sheet!
Questions:
What kind of fuel (asked above already)?
No water/meth on that run?
I would think you may have some belt wrap issues with a pulley smaller than the 2.5" one.
Re: I know I\'m a noob, but I vote to ban Ileone and Vipermed.
No, it's usually a money destroyer. Bullshyte (?) frequently survives. That's why OJ is playing golf.
Re: I know I\'m a noob, but I vote to ban Ileone and Vipermed.
Actually he's right. Litigation is usually the best way to resolve disputes. I mean, at least you always get a fair result, and it's free. And isn't there some fund that pays your damages even if you lose? Oh wait, I think...
Lots of them have come loose, many with virtually no miles on them. Apparently some of the factory techs just don't torque them properly (250 ft lbs?). Dodge should have done a recall to check them all out. I don't know if you have an extended warranty or not, but if your car has low miles...
