A few hints for anyone who wants a heated garage (long but worth the read I think!)

Having had a heated garage for about the last 7 years now, (I stored my '70 T/A 340 Six Pak in there for a few years before we got the Viper), I have a bit of a story to tell. I bought a wall mounted vent-free heater for the garage, (I insulated the heck out of it when it was built), so I...

    Motor to arrow....Any advice??

From what I know, it goes back to factory specs and parts, they dyno it to make sure it meets factory specs, then they send it back, better than new. Don't know about adding aftermarket parts, probably not, because it might affect the warranty. Comes back stronger than new.

Need 17" Pilot Sports - Good Deals?

Re: Need 17\" Pilot Sports - Good Deals? You might want to check with Sears, of all places! When they have a Michelin sale, they have the best prices fo anybody. However, be very careful about mounting, have them get their best tire guy in the shop to mount the tires on your wheels, or you...

    RT/10 Heater?

Everybody so far confirms what I found also, no heat out of the front vents, only cool or cold air from the AC when you turn it on. Heat comes from the defrost duct to the windshield and out the bottom on your legs.

First Oil Change After Arrow Rebuild

Yep, follow the suggested oil change and rpm limits for the entire break in period. Bet you will have a hard time holding the rpms at the suggested break in limits for at least the first 500 or 600 miles. It is unbelieveable how fast 2000 rpm's comes up on a Viper! But it is worth it, I...

    Bought a Viper

RS SNAKE, You definitely have to come out to Gingerman Race Track next Father's Day to watch the Vipers racing there! It is a great experience and you will witness first hand what the Viper is all about on the track. Congrats on your Viper, and good luck with it. Hope to meet up with you if...

I GOT SOME AWESOME PICS w/ digital cam. Warning large!

Ab, I like it, it looks great! But I think the scoop will highly affect your top end with such a high drag coefficient. Might make it slow down to about the top end of an RT/10. Very nice look, like the Dodge comercial says,it's different.

    Can and/or should I install a window kit to a '94 RT/10?

Re: Can and/or should I install a window kit to a \'94 RT/10? Autoform windows and roof system are very nice, but if you only want windows, we got the V Mania ones, and they have worked out very nicely. They install right where the factory windows go in the inserts in the door, and take very...

    Help, antifreeze leak

My local dealership replaced the thermostat and gaskets under warranty and did it by taking off the cowling that fits around the wiper shafts to give himself more room back there. It was tight, but he managed it fairly well. He did it by the book

OK, this is the 2nd time the heater hose blows off the heater connection

What the heck is going on, every time I get on to some heavy acceleration, I blow the heater hose off the top of the heater and blow antifreeze all over the engine compartment and the right side of the car! Has anybody else had this happen to them? I have those squeeze open compression clamps...

First few Vipers arrived in ...

I know someone who has a Comp Coupe on order from the Grand Rapids area, he can't wait to get it and go racing! Only 50 will be sold this coming year. It is a beauty, I have seen one a few times now, and it is stunning. Too bad they did not make a streetable version of it. If it drives like...

New question about my broken engine under warranty...

As far as I know, my flywheel did go to Arrow, because they checked it out for me. I think they need it anyway for when they do their Dyno test after the rebuild to check it out and make sure it develops the advertised horsepower and torque.

Dealer wants to replace entire engine!!!

Unless there is major damage to the block itself, then why can't it be rebuilt? Heck, the heads should be replaceable, or are they numbers matching too? If you go the Arrow rebuild, you still have a numbers matching car after all is said and done! Am I missing something here as to why it has to...

Dealer wants to replace entire engine!!!

OK, here is the procedure that the dealer has to follow as I remember it. The symptoms have to be checked and verified by a certified Viper Technician, and then called in to Chrysler Star (STAR is an acronym for Chrysler's main service center), and then STAR decides what happens next. If STAR...

    Poll: Gas mileage

I can squeeze about 26 to 27 mpg out of the car on a trip in 6th gear at about 70 mph (not many hills in northern Indiana or southern Michigan and fairly straight highways). You are only running at about 1250 rpms at that speed, and in 6th gear, gas mileage goes way up, but you gotta stay off...

How do I remove the Halogen bulb from its holder on the fog lights? Help!

Never mind, now that I see the light bulb, it has a white pigtail lead with a spade connector on it, and that is how it is replaced. The bulb does not come out of the base metal bracket, the whole thing gets replaced! I see the light!

    What can you feel, SOTP

Add 25 HP to a PT Cruiser, and you will definitely "feel" the difference. Add 25 HP to a Viper, and you may not even really notice it. However, if you change the torque band a bit along with it, now you may feel it, even if it is only 10 hp. Sometimes adding Horsepower alone may not be...

How do I remove the Halogen bulb from its holder on the fog lights? Help!

I finally figured out how to get the bulb out of the lens cover housing through the inspection cap on the passenger side of the car, and through the front opening too, but I can't get the @#%$" bulb out of the metal socket or housing, and I don't want to force it out and break something. Can't...

Question for the track guys regarding suspension

I start getting a clunking sound from under the back of the car every so often. I take it to the dealer, and they re-torque the suspension bolts, ladder bar bolts, etc, per a TSB, and it goes away. However, I had it done about three weeks ago, and then took the car to the Gingerman for a day...

My first 1/4 mile in the Viper

Two years ago, I gave it my first shot at a very hot and wet drag strip at VOI-6 in St. Louis, and the best I got was a 13.77 at 108 mph, or right around there, so you are consistent with my time. Now, if it were today, I know I would get much better times, especially on a dry track , and lower...

what's the top speed you've hit on the streets ?

Re: what\'s the top speed you\'ve hit on the streets ? 125 in a 55 zone, yikes, if the police ever would have caught me, over twice the speed limit plus 15 mph for good measure. Never have done it again on the road, about 110 mph at the Gngerman last week!

Viper Driving School, Gingerman Race Track, Friday, August 2nd, 2002

A day I will never forget! What great weather, A great school that was put together through The MCVO region, and with great efforts from Rod Harris and Stan Surratt. The instructors were great, I can't say enough about my instructor, Marshall Dickler (even though he drives Ferraris), just...

    Guys with RT10 Vipers

Regrets, I've had a few, but then again, too few to mention. (There goes the Chairman of the board in me!) No, no regrets with the RT/10, it is great! I love driving it with the top off, and the wife is getting more used to it now, and she loves it too! We have had an unusually warm summer...

    998 recall in process

I wass talking to our Tech last night (had the oil changed and prep the car for a one day driving school next Friday at the Gingerman in South Haven MI) , and he said this recall takes about 20 hours of time to accomplish. Not a short one at all, so that is probably why the dealer is saying...
