    Flickering lights

I will fiddle with the switch, but just wiggling the stalk did not reliably reproduce the flicker; the only correlation I thought was there was when signalling lane changes the lights flickered, bute that was not reliably repeatable.

    Flickering lights

An odd and intermittent problem the other night arose: The lights on the car would randomly flicker. The headlights, instrument lights, everything went dark for just a second. This happened a few times and then quit. I could not get it to repeat over bumps or fiddling with the stalks going...

    Crazy Texas Heat

That is definitely unlike my car, Greg. My SRT cools perfectly, right at 190 temp even stuck in traffic and not even over 200 in a track outing. Sounds like a P/S pump problem or valving issue, as though the pump were making no pressure at all, thus not driving the cooling fan or steering...

How valuable are you to DC? Getting shafted I says. VALVE ISSUE.

aspviper (I really hate "handles"): If it were your money and your product with incompletely machined valves that reduce power by about 5%, would you replace the entire engine? Seems like a waste to me. What happens to the replaced engines? Do you think the risk of damage to the car or down...

How valuable are you to DC? Getting shafted I says. VALVE ISSUE.

I am not a chest-beating DC supporter, BTW; Along those lines a close friend with an "unaffected" SRT had a dyno run that I personally conducted making about 420 rwhp and 440 ft-lbs torque; it remains to be seen what or if DC will do anything about that. The resale problem concerns me but is...

How valuable are you to DC? Getting shafted I says. VALVE ISSUE.

Did anyone here READ the article? The Nav systems COULD NOT BE RETROFITTED, which was the original plan that M-B announced. Had the Nav systems been compatible with the existing cars, M-B's dealers were going to install the Nav sytems. Also, these folks had NO Nav system on delivery; we did...

Check engine light on a supercharged Viper

I throw a misfire code once in a while, but have not for a long time. You have to read the code, then go from there. The light alone could be anything, including a problem unrelated to a check engine light. Sean Roe sells an inexpensive code reader that will also clear codes. Get it and see...

    Any probs w/ the Roe S/C ??

My '01 runs fine. I am not fully satisfied with the tuning of the VEC-2 and had to chase some misfire codes, but this was the best aftermarket part I have ever put on a car. The VEC-2 tuning software is just around the corner, so I can custom dyno-tune here, so the state of tune does not...

I want to get back into Vipers again! selling my Ferrari, any interest?

Actually, your car is fairly priced given the 30K service for teh right buyer (most people want really low miles on their F-car); Dupont tends to have pretty inflated Ferrari prices, though - I purchased a 355 for under the lowest asking price, but a pristine TR should be able to bring the $60K...

    Viper Handling vs. Z06 handling

It is also very attributable to driver skill & experience - objective handling performance is nearly impossible with all the variables out there.

    $300 Gift Certificate from ISG

I got mine despite declining the so-called accord & satisfaction. But my Viper tech says the system does not show my car needing intake valves?

I'm hosed. need ACR rear shock yokes for Viperdays in 2 weeks!

Re: I\'m hosed. need ACR rear shock yokes for Viperdays in 2 weeks! Why won't they transfer? I have a pair of yokes that I thought were "extra" that fit my Koni 2812 shocks (there is a threaded sleeve that adapts the threads on the shock body to the internal threads in the yoke). Is it just...

    Motec CD

Yes. The ADL allows you to configure the dash, calibrate sensors, download data from the dash and much, much more. The Interpreter software take the data from the dash and does track mapping, overlays, statistics, graphs and so on. This stuff is very flexible, but takes some learning. The...

    stripped side sill bolts

They are actually sheet metal screws and very easy to strip. I have done two things, one easy, one more dificult. The easy is go to a hardware store and get one size larger sheet metal screw and carefully tighten so as not to strip it again, The more difficult approach is to use "nut-serts","...

    Dallas Mustang

Todd, consider going to Lone Star Performance; Todd Opperman there is very good and they have SRT dyno data there - I have dyno'd a friend's SRT there. They are located at Loop 12 near I-30 (not too far from Lone Star Park.

    SRT vs GT

Sadly, it looks like the Ford GT will be fat and expensive - I loved the car and considered it, but have ordered the Gallardo. Similar price, exotic styling, Audi engineering, 500 hp and 3100 lbs. At least I hope all this is accurate when the Gallardo touches down for real. The Viper will...

    oil drain plug SRT/10

drain plug is on drivers side of pan, at the middle. Filter is the same as prior Vipers, M1-204, I think, but just look it up at the parts store for a 2001

When will the SRT-10 coupe be out?

I hope it goes to those who bought and held the SRT, just like the SRT went to those who bought & held new Vipers previously. What sweet revenge to Dodge against those who declined the SRT and called it names ;-)

Aluminum floor jack $149.95 @Harbor Freight

The effort is all about leverage! To raise a car in 3 pumps (race jack) is going to make each pump a lot harder than a jack that takes 10 pumps to raise (standard garae jack). The same amount of total work is the same. A useful application of physics.

Q on brake balance, opinions wanted

Tom said it well. Bottom line is pre-ABS Vipers don't have enough rear bias. Avoid the knee-jerk reaction of bigger calipers on front; smaller pistons in the front is the only way to go unless you change the rear. Tom is too humble, too. He engineered a slick way to increase the stock...

An open forum for Roe Supercharged Viper owners/installers

An update from the Dallas area. After my install (which went very, very well) the car (2001) just did not seem to run right and so I installed a wide band O2 sensor and my diagnostic software. The car was running way too rich, but nothing else obvious going on. Well, I have done enough...
